I never missed a single episode of Outlander, I even got friends watching the show. I record every episode and watch them again in case I miss something. I'm a guy but I find this scene to be one of the most romantic scenes. I re-watched this scene numerous times because it was so great. It must be so fulfilling for everyone on set once they realise they executed a highly anticipated moment. This really is THE event of the whole series in my opinion. Its wasn't overdone or overacted which made it feel all the more like an authentic reaction.

I agree it was probably the high point, but I think all of the time-travel unions/reunions were huge moments where the show's mettle was tested. Like, is this a joke, or are we really supposed to believe this? And I have to say, I think they earned the right to be taken seriously.

It needs to be stated that the soundtrack for this scene was exquisite in combination with the direction and Catriona Balfe’s performance. I can watch this over and over again watching Claire’s anticipation and excitement.

Scarred physically and emotionally I felt unworthy of love and physical affection. I remember watching this scene with my husband and saying “If that boy doesn’t pass out!” Cue fainting lol. I love this show!

Thinking about the length of 20 years. I was in love with someone who moved across the country for a job and I haven’t seen him since. I still think about him occasionally. The heart always remembers.

I watched the whole series 5 time and NEVER GET TIRED OF IT. it's epic. The sound track is just unbelievable.

My first love came back into my life after 30 years, when I opened my front door to him, he said he felt like that. We’ve been back together now for more than 10 years. He never stopped loving me, so wonderful.

In the book Jamie passed out when he reached out and touch Claire. He said she came to him often in the past but when he was able to touch her he realized she was real🥰 it’s been such a long time since I read these books. Over a decade. But I still remember the scenes in my mind. Unfortunately I haven’t watched any of the series.

@@cjh516 Honestly I’m scared the series will ruin it for me. A lot of times when they make a book into a movie or series it isn’t the same for a person that read the book. I may give it a try. Once I found a bridge version of the book on audio at a used book store and bought it. I was so upset because I realized it was a shorten version of the book and the missing parts bothered me. I donated it back to the used book store🤣

This is such a timeless story. I devoted the books when they first came out. When my daughter became an adult I was able to introduce her to the TV series and she Loves it as much as I do. It’s a rare thing to enjoy something with another generation. I thank Diana and the show runners for allowing me to do that. I wonder if my daughter will introduce it to my Granddaughter when she is older? I bet she will Love it as we do.

I was getting butterflies in my stomach as she got closer. Started breathing heavier as she was inside getting closer. Then that moment that she heard his voice, I legit started crying. Her face and eyes lit up as if terrified and ecstatic all at once. When he fainted though I lost it lol.

Every woman wants to be loved like this....makes me cry everytime I watch.

I love how for a second she stops at the door fixing her hair like you do when you are about to see someone after a very long time and you have a moment of uncertainty, will they recognise me, will they still love me, will they still want me in their life? Amazing.

This is the best part of the entire series in both TV and the books. Absolutely awesome.

The sign of a true actor is that you feel they're actually another person Sam and Catriona as well as the other cast members DO this. Watch all the background actors really look at costumes and scenery listen to the music. It is absolutely outstanding altogether!!

I'm 62 my daughter and myself watched and yes I cried my daughter had read the books but I can't read because of I don't see well , but I watched outlander never missed it I have to sit close but this episode my daughter knew what happened and she watched me and my reaction . Yes she laughed but when it finished we watched it again . What a beautiful scene to watch this handsome figure of a man just hit the floor after seeing the one he loves come back to him even if he thought she was a ghost . Out of common! One of the rare scenes in which the male character in a drama falls down when he sees the female character who is the love of his life. Sam Heughan plays the perfect Jamie, in love after seeing his beautiful Claire after so many years, played by the always wonderful Caitriona Balfe. What moment! Greetings from Brazil!

This series is life !! I haven't read all the books BUT the moment Claire opens the door, I think I was ready for the waterworks. The music on this show sets up everything for you perfect example is the first episode of season 5.

One of the few times in television history a faint was 100% on the money believable.

This scene gives me chills every time ❤

We've been waiting for this moment to happen and freaking Jaime just fainted on us all LOL.

Her expression on her face was perfect when she saw Jamie .

Their reunion scene is very beautiful sweet and touching....and funny as hell when he faints. I never get tired of that last part! 😂

I was waiting for him to fall in the piss pot, like the book said. I cried when I read this scene in the book. It was so touching when he was looking at the pictures and how it describe he broke down and cried. Such a touching scene.

i was so on edge of my seat during this moment that i didn't realise i was crying and laughing at the same time when jamie fainted

This and when Bree found Jamie in the alley were incredible to watch.

This moment is so sweet yet hilarious at the same time! I hope my future husband reacts like this on our wedding day when he sees me walking down the aisle! Jamie's reaction is so adorable!

I completely agree with this statement. I fluctuate with which is better. Last Kingdom is consistently great.....whereas Outlander fluctuates 90% of the time greatest show ever and 10% of the time, hokey (I.e. final half of Season 3)

The guy who was the cutest guy in the school was very paunchy, nearly bald, and sloppy-assed drunk before dinner even arrived, moaning about his third divorce. All that in just 20 yrs. No pride there. On the other hand, the guy who was the bad boy, nearly got expelled a couple of times, rode a motorcycle and wore his hair too long (that was a thing back then), was gorgeous, healthy and smart-alec happy. He'd have made the perfect Scottish smuggler.

I'm just sorry they put in so little effort to add the 20 years that passed, they makes them look exactly the same when especially Jamie went through such a hard life.

Hands down one one of the best show that i ever watched. Story, acting and direction 10/10

My favorite is where she tells him she's not a witch. LOL, even thinking of the expression on his face when he asks, so politically correctly, if she's a witch! Then she tells him what she IS, he's just blank. He was raised to believe in witches, not time travelers.
