Pimp C didn’t really want to be outside of that because he always wanted to be in control of their sound and lyrics. I grew up on UGK lived and went to school in Texas as a kid now live in GA. Outkast came along and had that flare and sound that no one could F with. We have to remember that OutKast is the group that got on stage and announced the south amongst a crowd of West Coast vs East Coast beef. From that point on… “the south got some to say”. Both major pioneers in the game…. F it I’ll take a shot.

Even on this clip dude said OutKast did more, UGK didn’t have enough time, when in actuality UGK hit first and dropped the same amount of official albums.
