I'm gonna be real, I've heard the original and several covers of this song, both English and Japanese. There was only one Japanese cover I liked and any English lyrics just seemed...off. But this cover is perfect, from the change in the actual music to lyrics that actually make sense. Absolutely stellar, dude.

So I've always listened to the jubyphonic version of this song, and don't get me wrong, I love both! Juby's will always have a place in my heart, but the way this one is translated just fits with the actual story of mekakucity actors better

2:40 underrated as shit i love little wawowowa in the background its very nice on my ears. and the drumline of course. but from a composing standpoint thats easily the best part. & i cant tell if thats like, piano or some kind of music-boxey synth or midi cello in the bass part but it really fills out the sound. wish the whole song sounded like that id trade my soul for that

You are basically correct. This dude wants time to reset to endlessly prolong his own life, and the rewinding of time requires all the eye power people dying. So he kills everyone to take away any reason Mary might not want to turn back the clock, while simultaneously giving her a reason why she would want to.

@@anyaconda5172 Nope, the Clearing Eyes (or Kuroha here) is killing everyone to fulfill his master's wish, Ayano's father Kenjirou, which is to see his wife, Ayaka, again. The plan was to gather all the snakes in the real world around the new queen, Marry, and create a new world where he could see his wife again. However, Ayano had killed herself to prevent that from happening. This ended up having the opposite effect, instead of the original tragedy happening... The tragedy is that the Clearing Eyes is killing everyone to reset the timeline, and Marry wants a world where she can see her friends again. So she keeps resetting the timeline to get that one loop where her friends are alive and they defeat the Clearing Eyes.
