my wife and i will be visiting the obx in October 2023. this will be my first visit since 1977 and this will be my wife's first visit, cant wait to get there

We’ve lived on the east coast of NC for almost 20 years and finally made it to the south end of OBX for a weekend. It was great and can’t wait to go back for longer than a weekend.

Family had a cottage in Nags Head in the early 80’s my childhood. We would spen time there during summer vacations. Fondest childhood memories are from their. Hatteras beach fishing. All night pier fishing. Climbing Jockeys Ridge, etc.. We did it all.

My visit to the Wright brothers memorial was phenomenal. What a incredible part of our American history. I am blessed to have experienced visiting the museum and the memorial site. I will never forget it. This is a must see site for all tourist and residents.

Nicely done! We live on the Outer Banks! However, a few factual corrections for your viewers: "Corolla" is pronounced "Curr-allah", Bodie Island (Light House) is pronounced "Body" Island. Manteo, the town on Roanoke Island is pronounced "Manny-oh". It's "Jockey's Ridge"" state park. And Orville and Wilbur Wright visited here many times to achieve first flight, but they didn't live here, not long term. They had to bring anything they needed over by barge from the mainland. To see wild horses, better head right on up to Corolla adn Corova, the part where you have to drive on the beach because the road ends there. You're not going to see any/many wild mustangs anywhere else on the OBX proper. :)

He pronounced, "The Lost Colony" as "The Last Colony." That's the one thing about us locals, we will call you out on your mispronunciations... 😂

We are there now! Haven’t had a chance to go explore yet - that’s tomorrow & the next day! But the beach just on the other side of the dunes from us was lovely today. Found a shark egg case and have had two awesome sunsets!

Missed my chance a couple weeks ago when my water pump broke on my car!! I'll BE BACK!!

Will be going there next Thursday. Definitely ready

Lost Colony, not Last Colony. Manteo is phonetically spelled in English of a Native American person’s name, not as the Spanish would have pronounced it (Matteo for example).

It's not boring. There are zillions of things to do. A great many visitors, though, prefer to do nothing but sit on the deck, have adult beverages and lay or walk on the beach. That's heaven to many. Nice thing is you can do this vacation any way you like!

yep. it very expensive and worse if you live and work there as there is nothing you can rent on minimum wages so you have to drive 50 miles from where you can afford to live on a average salary of 20k per year. This is a place mostly for tourist that can afford to rent a beachfront 6 bedroom house for 6k per week plus expenses..
