Outdoor Master Skateboard Helmet Review

Skateboard Helmet Review:
I was recently contacted by Outdoor Master, an outdoor sports brand that produces various outdoor pursuits products including skateboard helmets.
They asked me if I would be interested in trying out their skate helmet and making a video review, I'm always curious to try new things so I agreed and here's that video.
In case anyone is interested in getting one for themselves they have given me an affiliate link from which you can get a discount and I get a small cut which will as ever go towards making more content for this channel.
Link:

Or you should be able to use the code NeilH at checkout for a discount on any of their products.
Here's a playlist of other skateboard safety gear videos i have done:

I hope you found the video interesting and please let me know your thoughts in the comments section below or leave a like to show your support.
Thank You !

I'm 42, and I've got back into mountain biking as well as skateboarding over the last 4 years. I still find it very bizarre that skateboard has a culture of not wearing protection (unless on the vert of course). Many brilliant skaters after many incidents would still never even consider wearing a lid. In contrast, in MTB and basically every other extreme sport you're considered a moron without protection. Crazy. Make helmets cool when not doing vert! 🙂 Aside from that, I wish skate helmets had better at ventilation. I wear my skate helmet for dirt jumping too, and I'm still looking for a decent lid with good ventilation. I have a very sweaty head. I'm considering trying the POC Crane Mips, but very expensive, and now definitely considering trying out the one you mention!

Totally agree but skateboarding has never really been a “sport” or a run of the mill one to say the least. The non conformity has probably played into the lack of protection and the fashion culture that has spawned from skating dictates that it’s not cool to be safe. All my heroes wore helmets and still do and that’s influenced me to do so as well, I suppose if I cares about street skating these days I might think differently but my pads give me double confidence in my skating and that’s enough to keep me wearing them.

With regards to the ventilation the real revelation with this helmet was how low and front facing the vents were compared to my other helmets which made a huge difference in cooling so definitely something to look out for when looking for a new one.

Honest review and lots of good infos there. Spot on what you said about helmets. Most of us are conscious about how it looks and I haven’t seen a helmet yet that looked cool but that’s a choice people needs to make rather prioritise looks or safety. I didn’t know this brand and I really like the idea of more air flowing which could make a huge difference for me when it comes to comfort. 👊

Thanks mate 👍🏻 Looks are a strange one because I watched Tony Hawks Vert Alert this weekend , So many skating heroes, the best in the world, all wearing helmets and I though they all looked perfectly cool so maybe it’s just perception 🤔

Greetings. Stumbled upon your channel looking for knee pads. I'm in similar shoes - getting back into skateboarding after ages of setting the board down. Sim. age. I'm pretty active, and I don't mess around with protective gear anymore. I just do it. I also mountainbike and lots of people that are reluctant to wear protective gear ALWAYS end up wearing it after they've had a major injury that required lots of time to recoup. Had they worn a simple knee/elbow pad, or proper helmet, the injury would have been completely avoided. So, I'm doing the same thing with skateboarding. I used to skate street and ramp when I was a kid, and thankfully didn't get injured - so I'm looking forward to getting back on the board (lots more access to parks now!) - but I am going to wear proper gear so I don't take myself out needlessly. So, here I am, looking over your videos to see what are the proper brands, proper gear, etc... If able, please always include a budget and a best (regardless of price) option. I'd rather buy proper gear and skimp on stuff that really doesn't matter. In the end, a bad injury is way more expensive than the most expensive gear. Also, I'm in the US, so perhaps some brands you mention won't be available - so I'll do research as well. Ok, thanks for the videos and channel! Go SK8!

Thanks for checking out my videos 👍🏻 sounds like you are in exactly the same situation as Me. And I totally agree that a lot of people ignore pads until it’s too late. I haven’t really focussed too deeply on pricing because usually there’s not much difference between them and it also varies wildly between the UK where I am and the USA so it’s hard to compare. In my pad videos I think I focused on what to look for and the difference between “cheap” and “Good” without price being an issue because usually the price is quite explanatory when you look at the quality. Helmets are a much harder item to differentiate as they are pretty much all the same kind of construction these days perhaps apart from custom ones like flyaway but I’ve never used one of them and don’t like the look so can really say much about them. Have a look at my other helmets video for some more broader info if you haven’t seen it already. I would say as a general rule you can’t go too wrong by sticking to well established skateboarding brands and a visit to a proper specialist and well stocked local Skateshop should give you some ideas. I’m always happy to answer any questions you may have too 👍🏻👊🏼

Also most of the skate brands are US based so you’ll have better availability than I do 👍🏻
