Most Popular Outdoor Kitchen Package:
Along with a built in gas grill, the most popular items customers are building into their outdoor kitchens are access doors, followed by a side burner, a refrigerator and a trash bin. Access doors are a must for access to gas plumbing connections. Some customers add a door/drawer combo under the grill instead of access doors to gain some enclosed storage drawers for their utensils, gloves, cleaning supplies, etc. A side burner is great for sauteing veggies, heating your baked beans or really anything that you might normally use your indoor stove for. A refrigerator is super convenient to have by your grill to keep you from running back in the house to get another beer or cold beverage, or the mayo/mustard. Finally, a roll out or tilt out trash bin keeps your trash can handy when you need it and then roll it back inside the island to keep the flies away. Island vent panels are a necessary safety requirement, and should be considered part of the basic package.
More Outdoor Refrigeration:
Outdoor ice makers, wine coolers, kegerators, and beverage centers are great additions to your outdoor kitchen, especially if you entertain. Your guests will love having ice cold beverages, including fresh beer on tap, during the party. Adding one of these components to your outdoor kitchen takes the hassle out of running back and forth inside while entertaining.
Expand Your Outdoor Cooking Options:
Do you love having that smokey flavor on your food, or making pizzas from scratch? Don't limit yourself to an outdoor kitchen with just a gas grill as your only cooking appliance. A flat top griddle is an excellent addition for cooking breakfast or hibachi style meals. Add a pizza oven for family pizza night which is an absolute hit with the kids! You may prefer to install a charcoal grill or kamado for that old school charcoal flavor. Add a kamado or a smoker for that low temp, slow cooked flavor of smoked ribs, brisket or holiday turkey.
Sinks, Faucets & Ice Bins:
Installing an outdoor sink allows you the convenience of easy prep and clean up before and after you grill, without having to go back inside the house. Add a drop-in ice bin or an ice chest storage drawer to keep your beverages on ice. Maybe add a beverage/bar center for a more multi-functional sink/ice bin option.

    Would you recommend installing the grill to back into the lanai opening or inside wall with a hood. I’m concerned about the smoke collecting in the lanai or with the hood the back wall getting all greasy and dirty from the grill exhaust. An advice is appreciated.

  • @BBQGuys

    @BBQGuys

    5 жыл бұрын

    Please make sure all materials surrounding the grill are noncombustible, and close to an opening. If it is covered, a hood is a must. It's common for some surrounding areas to collect grease over time, but a noncombustible backsplash (steel ect.) behind the grill would help. That way you can just wipe it down.

    When designing/building the counter area for an outdoor bbq area, what is the best material you recommend to frame out the counter area with? For my project, I have contractors bidding Steel framing, Wood stud framing and Block. Steel and wood framing with hardy board on the exterior for applying stucco or stone to. Is there a preferred design. I live in Arizona so moisture is not a problem. Thanks in advance.

    If you will not be installing under a covered area, I would recommend protecting your grills with covers. You should be fine, outdoor equipment is made to withstand fluctuation in temp. The main thing would be if you have a ceramic components such as a ceramic infrared burner/ ceramic kamado cooker you would not want to temp shock it from below freezing temps to firing it up super quick.

    hi. have you seen an outdoor built-in grill that is a charcoal AND an electric pellet smoker combo? by electric pellet smoker, im talking about self-regulating on temp and self-feeding on pellets.

  • @BBQGuys

    @BBQGuys

    6 жыл бұрын

    No, I have not come across a combo like that. Honestly, if I were to choose between a charcoal & pellet grill flavor wise, I would go with a charcoal kamado hands down. I just don't think you can beat the wood smoke & charcoal flavor combo. If you are looking for something easy to control temperature wise, a kamado will be the easiest charcoal grill that you don't have to babysit for long smokes. Once it preheats and stabilizes, it can cruise for 10+ hours without having to add fuel.

    I’m in North Louisiana with a house on the bayou and the mosquitoes can run you off. I bought this kit a few years ago. It’s pricey up front, but some of the best money I’ve ever spent. I spray first of each month during the season and never use repellant in my yard. I hit all the flower beds and under lower leafy limbs of trees. www.domyown.com/mosquito-control-kit-ultimate-p-2707.html

    Cost of building materials can vary a good bit of course, here are some popular designs we have - if you scroll down it links to the products that were used in the kitchens. That can help you narrow down the items you would like to have. www.bbqguys.com/bbq-learning-center/outdoor-kitchens/planning/designs Access doors under a gas grill are always required for access to the gas plumbing, vent hoods are recommended if you are in a space that is partially enclosed. This is the grill you see built in here: www.bbqguys.com/blaze/professional-lux-34-inch-built-in-propane-gas-grill-with-rear-infrared-burner-blz-3pro-lp The kamado can be found here: www.bbqguys.com/blaze-outdoor-products/20-inch-cast-aluminum-kamado-grill-blz-20-kamado Built in griddle options: www.bbqguys.com/bbq-grills-smokers/built-in-flat-top-griddles Access doors: www.bbqguys.com/outdoor-kitchen-storage/outdoor-kitchen-access-doors
