I originally wanted to see if people put a small amount of oil on threads kinda like when you put on an oil filter on a car. Would that be a bad idea? Please let me know if this is a dumb question haha

Nice one. Definitely agree with staying with the recommended and not automotive plugs. Been running NGK's in my boats for years and they are very inexpensive for my outboard. Thanks!

Which plugs do I need for an 05 yamaha 2 stroke 70hp outboard engine?

Thanks for watching. The best thing to do is remove a spark plug from a cylinder and take it with you to the marina so they can match it up to the exact replacement plugs as well as tell you the plug-gap required for your exact engine. Keep us posted. 😎👍

Should the interior are where the plug sits snuggly in be cleaned out of old carbon and fuel residue?

Thanks for watching & that’s a great question. It’s a good idea to carefully clean the insert prior to installing the plug. Be extra careful not to drop anything inside the engine during the cleaning process. 😎👍

Good morning, just poured a cup of coffee and am sitting down to answer any and all questions for the DIY community. We replace our plugs each summer however we replace the wires every 3 years. We will be replacing our coils this week because they are 10 years old and starting to bog down engine. Anthony Muro Thanks for watching & we are happy the video helped. The best thing to do is to locate your serial # placard on your engine. Write it down or take a photo of it. Visit your local marina & they can look up your exact engine’s plug gap. Many more helpful videos to come. Please subscribe to the channel and Ring your KZread Bell 🛎 that would be awesome thanks again. 😎👍🔧🔩

Good morning & welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. It’s becoming more & more common for plugs to be pre-gapped however it’s extremely important ensure they are properly gapped per the manufacturers gap set requirements. Thanks for watching Clint, hope all is well. 😎👍🔧🔩
