Out of Styal on a Triumph Bonneville T120 - A slow living motorcycle ride around Cheshire
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Riding the Triumph Bonneville T120 on the flat planes of Cheshire.
It's finally getting warmer so I took the opportunity to revisit an area I used to live in. Cheshire is mostly a flat place, full of stately homes and long, winding, fast lanes. Where there are hills, they're the gentle rolling type. It's a stark contrast to the brooding menace of the Dark Peak where I live now.
Starting from the stunning period village of Styal, I ventured out through Wilmslow and stopped by Jodrell Bank to say hello to the Lovell Telescope. It's massive scale never ceases to amaze. From there I took a meandering route up to Macclesfield to stop off for a cake and coffee at new bike shop Geared2Go. Rain was threatening by this time, so this was my last stop for the day then a quick blast for home.

@@ClassicRides Thought of getting a T120 yet am a sucker for cafe racers, and there are no Tritons or classics where I live. Wanted a slower lighter bike than my zx14R, which I'd owned for 17 years . Nice to see Triumph reborn and such great quality. Ive had 3 Hinkley bikes now.. Seeing a Triumph roaring down a country lane reminds me of Peter O'Toole thrashing a Brough Superior in the old movie.
Great stuff. Loving these vids. I'm curious as to which panniers you have there. They look pretty sharp.

Hi Matt, Are they Motone Up and Over bar risers?. Do you find they make a difference to comfort, handling. Regards Alistair, Perth Australia.
@ClassicRides
Жыл бұрын
Hi Alistair, actually this video is the only one where I took the Up and Over risers off 😁. I think having now reminded myself of what the bike feels like without the risers there's a definitely a difference, after filming this video my wrists were sore in a way that I didn't encounter with the risers in place, so they'll be going back on. It's only a slight difference but they definitely take some weight off your wrists I'd say.
@alietherington
Жыл бұрын
@Classic Rides Yeah think I'd previously seen them. Was asking as I have a T120 Black and find my wrists can get a bit sore, maybe because I'm a shorty at 5'6" and arms are shorter so reach forward a bit. Going to get some Motone risers as I love this bike and if they make it more enjoyable then so much the better. Thanks for the info.

The video is good, nice shooting angles, image and sound quality is at an enviable level, but you need to work on the music in the background ... it's quite candied, and spoils the overall impression.

Hey Matt, did you get pulled on the old black and silver plate?
@ClassicRides

Not yet! I always change the plate over in Spring as our local constabulary make a point of pulling bikers for things like plates at the start for "riding season". The black and white will be going back on once I feel like the coast is clear :D
