I dont think its all Valverde tho. First its injury. Second, his play style doesnt fit Barca. If you look at the videos he dribble past lots of players but after that he didnt know what to do. He either make a bad pass or shoot the ball. If you see all Barca's great wingers they can playmake. Messi, Neymar, Alexis, David Villa. They dont just dribble past players they dribble with purpose

Talent-wise, he is the best of his generation by large margin. His situation in Barca is very similar to that of Maradona back to many decades ago: 2 injure filled seasons led to out of favor by the team. Barca would make another huge mistake if they unload him. Barca apparently cannot keep the best players. In addition to Maradona, they also gave away real Ronaldo, another historical star and let Neymar, a huge talent though significantly less great than the previous two walked away. Dembele can be at least as good as Neymar if he is properly developed by a good coach in a more friendly team environment.
