Indeed, we must use the power given to us when we say truly we believe in Jesus Christ. Simply said, if you are dieing of hunger and if you are given an amount of money ( the power to become (John 1:12) to buy food to sustain your body for a day, you now hold and have the power to buy that food to stay alive. But instead of spending the money, you put it in your pocket and not use it, you will die of hunger. (John 3 born again) by this, Jesus gave you a new birth (birth of a new spirit) to begin a new life, this time in God, not in the flesh. After this moment of birth, you decide to continue living for your flesh (the old sinful self which is spiritually dead), then you continue to be dead as far as God is concerned. Because you do not want to use that " power to become " a son of God, you are worthless for God's glory and worthy to be cast into the lake of fire being that you are a dried up branch detached from the Vine (Jesus Christ). So, the question is, are you using this power? How do you use this power? True faith in God comes by hearing and hearing BY THE WORD of God. Simply said, you get yourself a Bible, read it, study it, understand it and live according to the wisdom it gives. Psalm 1:2 is the rule. Proverbs 3: 5-6 illustrates to you the kind of man/woman who is in God/Jesus Christ (a new creature in Christ). "Today, if you hear His voice, harden not your heart " but listen now. Jesus is knocking at your door, open the door, let Him in and listen to everything He says. We are living in what seem to be the last days before Jesus final return. While the man of the world/flesh lusting is busy watching that exciting action show on tv, or is fully engaged in this world's ( temporary earthlife) affairs, Jesus, like a thief in the night, appears to render the final judgement, are you ready? You do not want to hear the verdict " depart from me you worker of iniquity". Instead, the verdict must be " come into My kingdom My faithful servant". Because you claim to believe in Jesus Christ's sacrificial death and resurrection, you have the power to become a son of God, USE IT and don't wait. God so love you, He took the form of man to die for you. You are so special to Him. Don't take Him for granted.

And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased. Matthew 14:28-32 No matter how bad it looks to you, always focus on the Lord. Only when you focus on the storm will you then start to sink. All storms are created by The LORD to help you learn to focus. …..

I agree with Derek on nearly every point...But I believe that the idea that "we are stewards of God's creation" is a dangerous teaching. It opens the Christian to the very wrong and crippling condition of accepting guilt for something we are not personally responsible for. Have we as individuals sinned in a way to cause such things as climate change? Yet Derek's statement that we are stewards of creation opens us up to those who broadcast a blanket of guilt upon ALL people for "global warming" that is this horrid sin that we must atone for. I am not in any way sinfully responsible for changing the climate in a negative way. If the climate is warming (for any reason) why shouldn't we look to God who is the LORD of creation to solve this problem? WAY too many preachers have become slaves in the train of guilt that we are guilty for the potential of climate disaster. WE ARE NOT. We are responsible TO GOD for all of our behavior. But we should NEVER accept guilt for things of normal living. Should you be made guilty for driving your car? Should you be made guilty for not cowing to the theory of anthropogenic carbon release climate change? NO...But you should rather be made to see your guilt for NOT trusting God. As it says in Hebrews 11: "your sinful unbelief". The reason God was so angry with those who fell in the desert is because THEY REFUSED to trust in HIM. To me this is the same unbelief of those in our generation who have ceased to trust in God and are instead trusting in that false god "consensus of scientists"....end of rant.

Romans 8 21Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. 22For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. Children of God look forward to the future glory, for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Global warming is temporal, our focus is Lord Jesus, and the eternal.

Satan took this idea of empathy with creation and twisted it to further the plan of pushing guilt on people to push the sustainable development agenda/new world order.. What Derek said is true, we are stewards of creation but we are also ambassador's of Christ. We are not guilty, those who are in Christ.
