I probably SHOULD pay attention to the practical and very sensible upgrades that have taken time, consideration and budgeting... but I'm not gonna lie, bedsheets, blankets and fairy lights are my kinda upgrades😉😂

Jits is so cosy, I totally get how you love living in her and being as free as birds! The upgrades must have made such a difference to everyday life, especially the water filter, fridge & heater! Who needs possessions when you have such great, memorable adventures?!

I'd take a vintage van with character over a cold, soulless modern version anytime! Especially now that Jits has become a 5 star abode with all them upgrades. And it's an added bonus that this particular vintage van is occupied by my favourite vanlifers. Can't wait to watch your winter series. All the best! 🙏🏽😉

love this model too - looks so practical & cosy with everything you need - unfortunately they are really expensive (maybe because of the VanLife boom) :-( and I guess they are pretty expensive on gas

Living in a van and increasing efficiency in a van is a perfect example of Lean practice or Lean adminstration.

Great to see the updates on Jits! Tip with the heater, run it at full for 20+ mins at least once a week to "clear out" or "decarbon" the inside/exhaust and it should run forever. We learned the hard way with ours (always running on low) and after a couple of strips and rebuilds we got it working just once and had to replace it. Heard many people running theirs for years and no issues. Hoping for a warmer and cosier winter for you and can't wait for your next videos!

Thank you for your video. I have taken your upgrades in my beginning. The first and most important is my new China diesel heater. With his best position for mounting and exhaust tube. Very compact with his own fuel tank = I can use also the cheaper heating oil, instead of diesel. The next is my used truck compressor fridge box, runs on 12 Volt DC. It is a top loader, so the heavy cool air stays in. With an extra part for bottles. It is mounted on the passenger seat, so I can use it for cold drinks even by driving. I drive allways solo. It is also separated from the living area. So when I heat it warm, i don´t heat my cooler. And I don`t hear it, when it runs. I have also a water filter between my water canisters and the tap. It is a cheaper version, made for inhouse water systems at home. A new filter cartridge costs 8 pounds only. And works also well, the same level. I use light proof water canisters, not a water tank. (5 gallons each) So I can go everywhere to fill it. And connect it directly to my water system. I want to keep stealth. So no water fill or AC connect outside. And no stickers, etc. So my camper van don´t look like a camper. Greetings from sw germany. (liked + subscribed)

Great too see how a few well thought-out upgrades can really make a massive difference to a vintage van. You'll be soooo much more comfortable now (in the colder winters) and not have as many hiccups now you're fully juiced up! Yay!

We've got an 04 AS Symbol similar to Jits. I did the same fridge upgrade a while ago. Its a game changer😃 Only uses 40 watts when the compressor is running. I also fitted the same power and solar controller when rewiring like Gary's done for you. Another game changer😃 These AS boxer vans are brilliant. They don't make them like that any more. Such a shame. Good luck!

Welcome back guys. The upgrades look great. (Well maybe the fold down table, although very practical, is still a bit "work in progress"). I still think Jits is the best van conversion ever. Really well made and so much better layout with the settees/bed at the front. And of course, Tania is as gorgeous as ever. Really looking forward to your tour. Hope things go well for you, and your plans are not spoilt by Covid restrictions.

Nice to have the diesel heater, especially if you're into the "winter wonderland" locations or cold weather sports/activities. I would opt to keep driving south until the snow gives way to warmer temperatures. Looks like Jits is ready for whatever you have to throw at her. 👍

I love that idea of using the flexible plastic funnel with a suction cup to fill your water tank....cheap and efficient! Great update video you two. Stay warm and safe....happy travels!

Greetings from Poland I've now watched all of your backlog of videos. I'm bang up to date. The upgrades will make life much better in Jilts. She's now beautiful with a lovely "vintage" look carrying Sally's spirit wherever she goes.

I would stick a Marvel or DC comic poster on the underside of that homemade elevated table - that way it looks like a cool picture when up, and in use no one knows. My Van has an Eberspacher - it is decent, but the control thingy is fiddly, and I have had issues more owing to a dodgy uplift filter, rather than the heater itself - but it is decent when I am wild camping. I have a cracking little plug in one that that is like a large plug and I use on hook up - it is epic, and the best heater I have probably ever used in my van. If you want the brand name etc, I can dig it out - it is minuscule and fits into a three pin plug socket. Forgot to add, I am currently buying clothing from Bamboo or Bam Clothing - the clothing is amazing, socks feel so wonderful, tops feel lush, and for me they are my new, eco friendly clothing source.

As always we love your vids! Very handy tips and couldn't agree more about trying cutting down on all of those repetitive tasks to save time. 👍🏼

Fridge tip: remember a full fridge is an efficient fridge. Items that get cold internally (and freeze), ostensibly become small fridges themselves, so keep that fridge full all of that time!

Your upgrades are amazing! Jitters is the cutest! Love the solar. Our generator broke 2 years back and I refuse to buy another because I want to get a solar set up when finances are better. Oh and the water filter! Another great set up! And I'm TOTALLY with you about the blankets as an upgrade! I ordered fabric from India last year to hang in the windows of our rig and they are some of my favorite things! ❤ They make it feel cozy and homey.

Idea for your fold down work top guys. Magnetic chalk paint so that you can use it as a notice board & perhaps keep magnets from your travels too :) We have a small motorhome. A Peugeot boxer base Autosleeper Ravenna which we love but now our 14 year old isn't as interested in travelling with us we would love to get a smaller one like yours so that we can get to more hard to reach places.
