+A Catholic Turk. Actually Traditional marriage is the most important and is considered the official marriage and comes before Church Wedding. If her parents are real traditionalists, they'll require you do traditional marriage first with the important customary requirements. Church weddings are really not that important, and can be done down the road after you've been officially married. I am speaking from Igbo view point, but I believe it's true for most Nigeria tribes. I’m 94% I even have some North African mix. I’m 12 % Nigerian but mostly Ghana/Ivory Coast. I Have lived in Niger for several years I’ve been to Mauritius, Dakar, Morocco, and Algeria. I can’t wait for the day I move back for good. Sorry but I don’t want American children at least not the culture.

I'm Yoruba but I think I'd have to wear both Yoruba and Igbo traditional clothes on my wedding day. I love the Igbo ones as well, the different materials and the way they tie their wrapper is gorgeous ! Lol or maybe I'd just marry an Igbo!

I am a nigerian but from the western part of nigeria, this is my first time of watching a wedding ceremony from the eastern part of nigeria and i must say, this is the best traditional wedding so far, congratulations. New subbie here.

Hahahaha 😂 We call it spraying. You're blessing the couple. It happens at all Nigerian parties as a way of blessing the celebrant.

It happens all over africa, is a traditional pratice at parties, wedding, tradition ceremony, gathering etc

Yes our ancestors have been making it rain for decades! Since paper currency was introduced. Before that I'm sure they were using coral beads lol

This is by far, the best igbo traditional wedding I've watched. I love everything about it; the beauty, culture, sincerity, simplicity, love, atmosphere and then couple? Wow, I just love it!! And you just got yourself a new subbie. God has already blessed your marriage.
