VHS SYNTH is lovely - a rare ‘80s-slop thing that doesn’t suck. It just doesn’t belong among among the top synths of the year. Not only is it not a synth, which doesn’t mean much, but it is not among the top five or six synths of the year - in my view. Because of its price and source, everyone has it - but a lot of really good things came out this year. This last bit is why I would rather have the Haq list rather than a community list. Not everyone in the community is crazy enough or has enough disposable income to get pretty much everything decent-looking on the platform. This means cheap synths from popular developers will always figure disproportionately in such a list. So what? Well, yeah, so what. The what is having a list with a perspective from someone who pays attention to what’s happening on the platform. I think it’s more helpful to have a point of view from a reviewer than a community list - if we have to pick. Anyway, this sounds like a complaint, maybe, but it isn’t. Just an opinion, which is the purpose of the comments section, right? Much love.

Tera Pro is my favorite synth of 2022. The sound is out of this world. It’s also a physical modeling synthesizer. Great video.

@@wiegraf9009 Indeed! If your into synthesizers for iPad, I can highly recommend Tera Pro. It’s from famous desktop plug-in developer VirSyn (Harry Gohs). Also I own two iPad plug-ins from Audio Modeling that also do physical modeling, that are SWAM Tenor Sax and SWAM Cello. They have entire collections of acoustic instruments for the iPad. They’re a bit pricey but well worth it! It’s pretty cool to see how far iPad music making has come, physical modeling is a CPU intensive task and many iPads can handle this without issues. Also, PianoTeq 8 is coming to iPad this spring!

Trooper may be the most organic, responsive sounding virtual synth i’ve ever used

I would say TERA is most close to Access Virus TI sound from all currently available synths on iOS

Do you think the ipad is now at a place where getting one and these synths is like having a hardware synth, with a flat screen. I already have a few hardware synths and was planning on getting an iridium, which is basically a vst with some hardware control. I figure the ipad touch screen is good enough for changing parameters on the fly. And one can continue to get new synths for it. Whereas something like the iridium will get no new features or bug fixes once it is discontinued. Are some of these synths multitimbral or can you setup something like a multitimbral setup?

Missed the release of copperhead so I know next to nothing about it. I think a lot of people missed the release of it from the looks of comments too. If I have anytime this year, I might have a look at it. 👍

Monolit and Megalit are pretty much the same exact thing. I regret buying Megalit cuz it’s just like Monolit. And it’s nice that Monolits Free

Would you recommend Megalit to someone who already has all the other big iOS synths? I love all of Bleass’s apps but I haven’t been entirely convinced with this one yet. Especially now with Buttersynth out.

They need to make the Ensoniq ASR -10 an ios app

I don't know why VHS Synth was so highly rated. I really don't think it's that great. I mean, take sounds and make them a bit worse and put them in a rompler. I dunno.

Wow there’s blast from the past! I used to use Milkdrop back in the day when I was Pc based (Wipped a lot of Lama Hines 🤫). However, I’ve been iOS based the past 10 years and for a long time there was nothing even close to it that I could use until VS - Visual Synthesizer came out. So I’ve been using that for a lot of visual stuff.
