Tears welled Im my eyes as I listened to your Dad explain the changes he went through and how he finally understood how Lexie needed to be protected. He was overwhelmed with emotion and so was I...that a white man with his background really really was able to understand the fear that black mothers and fathers have for their children daily. You are a very very special family and it is a blessing to see believers who actually “live” the word. Your conversation was totally honest and I was so blessed by it. I pray that God continues to watch over you all and protect your love for one another. Your daughter looks absolutely beautiful!!😇

But, people that choose to live life to the full will grow. Nice to see the love between humans. We are all of the human race but have different cultures. Great examples of patience, forgiveness, acceptance and love in a family.

I was shocked when your father-in--law said he was from Howell since its been know to be very racist. In a world full on so much hatred I applaud you for taking the time to do this and prove that its easier to love than hate. Keep spreading God's 2nd commandment to "love our neighbor as we love ourselves". Be blessed and be safe.

I really liked the video. Some things to bear in mind ( because you can never be 'too' aware). Systemic racism was not created by Black people, so please be cognizant of not burdening the Black people in your life with the emotional labor of "teaching," or explaining racism to you.. There are many tools out there that are accessible if you're open to learning! White Fragility is an awesome book, by Robin Diangelo (NYT's bestseller) Also, don't be afraid to research via google.... Though systemic racism is most adversely felt by POC, please remember that as white people you are also stakeholders b/c you benefit from it. Seek to dismantle it in your daily lives. If you hear problematic conversations at work, say something. If you get a little nervous or uncomfortable in groups of POC that you don't know...Examine where it comes from etc. It's all about checking implicit biases, and dismantling little inequities you see everyday.

Thank you to ALL of you for making this video! The WORLD needs it MORE THAN EVER right now!!! I'm an ex from an interracial marriage. None of these conversations were had before, during or after the marriage. His parents and sister loved me no doubt. However, the birth of my son REALLY had a HUGE EXTRA impact on us all as a collective family. I was raised to respect EVERYONE unless and until they behaved in a manner so as to disrespect me or threaten my welfare. Blessings to you all! Your dad cried like my son's papa whenever he was around his bleoved grandbaby, or whenever he talked about him. Love is Love! Again, thank you! Wishing you bliss, magic and miracles along this journey we call life!! You are a gorgeous couple and ...Girl I am HERE FOR THAT HAIR!!!!! LOL! One Love from beautiful BERMUDA!

In light of the climate in America at the moment this is just a testament of what real love is all about regardless of race the most important race is the human race and this is the beautifully demonstrated in this video. I was so moved watching the transparency and emotion that Brian’s dad displayed when admitting his views growing up about the black people, it was real and authentic and I feel it’s made a beautiful difference to how the whole family interact with each other. This is a model that America needs to embrace to facilitate change, One family at a time willing to have hard conversations. 🙏🏿

Thank you for sharing so candidly. I know for a fact that all racially mixed relationships don’t turn out like that. My sister in law’s father stop speaking to her after she married my brother. He never wanted to meet his grandchildren. He died without knowing them. It did my heart well to see the willingness to change and to see the world with different eyes. There’s hope for country, one person at a time.
