i've been in albania 4 times: first time, tirana berat and gjirokaster like 3 days, second one day in kukes in the northeast, third 2 months in the riviera in 2016 and finally 2 days in shkoder in 2019.i absolutely love albania, it's maybe my favourite country to travel. it can be confusing and complicated sometimes, but it's also easier than you might expect, because people tend to help you. and its absolutely beautiful. i've been in saranda and also in ksamil, had the opportunity to go to the beach on both places...it is amazing, but the cream of the crop is north of saranda. the first time i went to the beach in saranda, me and my girlfriend were in himara for already a month. when we arrived to saranda's beach we were like: " the beach is only this?" i am glad that the "main tourist circuit" in the riviera is only in that part (plus the blue eye where i've never been) because there's less people up north. there are beaches and mountain views at the same time, it's absolutely mesmerizing. next time try at least dhermi and qeparo, but other beaches are really easy to discover. even himara has a great beach, way better than in saranda ( i still like saranda though). i will go back in albania in the future for sure, i want to go back to the beach and to visit other cities. and to go to tirana decently. i hope you enjoyed that wonderful country.

Watched this video last night,and we both enjoyed it.we did the top half of albania,think we drove everywere in our car,we tried to find somewere with no litter,no luck.and to be honest we wasnt going to go back,but after your video,we might give the south of albania a try when we get back from bulgaria debs ps again back to price,how much was your stay,how much was your guide,how much is your hotel,how much is food,things people want to know if they go there. xx

Hi Debs, thank you for watching! We're glad that this video made you want to give it another try. We absolutely loved the south of Albania and there are still many nice places we have not had the chance to visit. We've seen a bit of litter yes, but overall it was alright. We've added links in our in our description for all the details as when we checked them to add them, they were different to what we paid. Probably because we went off season and the season is starting now so prices are going up. So we didn't want them to be misleading. We will think about including them for food when we are focusing on specific restaurants. x

There is a strategy to clear all the trash randomly placed in Albania right now by the government ,hope it's sucesfull since it has always been a problem for us , hope you enjoy

How long did you stay in saranda? I'm thinking of going solo (flying into corfu, then get the 30 min ferry to saranda). What's the best things you recommend doing there?

We stayed for 2 weeks as we were on a working holiday. So we mainly had the weekend and evening to enjoy. I think you could come for a week. We recommend going to the places we visited (Butrint, Ksamil, The Blue Eye, Lekuresi Castle), but there are also more beaches to see around Saranda, they are supposed to be beautiful. If you drive you could go to Përmet for the thermal baths and Vlorë too. Have a look on Tripadvisor to see what tours are available to it will give you an idea of places you can see around Saranda. Hope this helps :)
