Our Solar Eclipse TOTALITY Experience in Grapevine, TX 2024! Meow Wolf & First Total Solar Eclipse!
On day four of our cross-country road trip, we experienced totality during the Great Solar Eclipse of 2024! We visit Grapevine, Texas, explore the Meow Wolf - The Real Unreal exhibit, enjoy a bit of their eclipse watch party, and then retreat to our peaceful hotel pool, where the clouds miraculously part, despite all the weather reports saying the cloud cover would be too thick, and we enjoy a gorgeous, perfect, clear sky for the FULL TOTAL ECLIPSE OF THE SUN, with full view of the ring of fire, totality, and partial eclipse before and after! The day turns to night as the sky grows dark, and we marvel at one of the coolest things we've ever experienced during this celestial event. We're so happy to be able to share this experience with you, our full day in Grapevine, Texas, and our first time seeing a full solar eclipse with totality! Thank you for the love and support on the road trip series, stay tuned as the vlogs continue as we drive westward across the USA!

This was the most super enthused moment I've ever seen! Thank you for capturing this incredible phenomenon so perfectly for us all
I am so glad I found this video. I stayed at the same hotel and watched the eclipse from the front of the hotel along with most of the hotel staff! I could see the pool and may have seen you watching!. As an astronomy enthusiast I planned on seeing this eclipse my whole life, and was really concerned about the cloud cover. But, when the sky cleared a few minutes before totality and stayed clear through totality I was very happy! There were mini eclipses on the ground shining through the leaves of the trees, and yes, the birds flew to the top of the trees and decided to take a nap. The street lights came on. It was surreal. The "star" to the right of the sun was Venus, and to the left Jupiter. Viewing these planets added to the experience. Then, after the eclipse, on the ride back to the airport, the skies really cleared! So, we were very lucky to get the clearing just before and after totality!

Beautiful! Those stars were planets! 🪐

Venus to the right, Jupiter to the left.
Everyone needs to experience a total solar eclipse, it was so amazing seeing it in Round Rock for my sons 10th birthday and watching this brings back all the excitement we felt watching the eclipse 🥰
This is such an awesome stop on your cross-country trip!! The Real Unreal exhibit looks absolutely amazing! I would love to go there!! Also, seeing your view of the Total Eclipse is insane!
We drove from VA to Erie, PA to be in the path of totality. It ended up being totally cloudy there, so we drove south to OH. We actually stopped at a rest area on the highway (along with a bunch of other people) and had a wonderful view. It was definitely worth the drive. One of the coolest things I've ever seen. We had almost 4 minutes of totality where we were. My daughter is already planning our trip to Orlando in 20 years to see another one! You should do a Super Enthused meet up for that one.
What an epic video. Loved both of your enthusiasm, it came across so well and you got some amazing shots for those of us that never got to watch the eclipse at all.
I am glad that you two made the trip for this wonderful experience. One of my friends and her husband came so they could have a chance to see people here but, also for the Eclipse. Our own personal moment with it was very peacefully spiritual and I ended up honoring it with our dog and cat who responded to it strange ways.
Literal goosebumps! I watched our measly 47% from Broward, but watching an eclipse from the path of totality is bucket list for sure! Thanks for sharing this Jackie. And the next American total eclipse will have a lot of Florida in the path!
I live in Flower Mound, Tx - which neighbors Grapevine where you were watching. It was very epic. We found an open field/hill to sit on and everyone was clapping. When it got totally dark, I was amazed by the lights automatically turning on. I'm so glad you got to see it. Hope you made it to downtown Grapevine while you were here.
Was so cool to experience this again through another person's viewpoint. We were able to experience as a family here in Indiana. My wife was like Sam, not understanding what Totality would be like. We were in Awe of God's creation. Amazing!!
What’s really cool is that you can see the eclipse very well in the lens flares even when you can’t see it through the clouds. Refraction is crazy.
You got MOONED!🌑
So cool that you went to Texas for this. Adventurous!
At 25:15 in the background you can literally see the Moon’s shadow rushing at them. I watched this from Ohio and it was every bit as spectacular as advertised. I’m glad you got to see it too!!!
It was amazing best experience we ever witnessed
I know the eclipse was the main event, but that house was crazy! Thanks for the video.
So cool thanks for sharing. We had 94% partial in CT and it fed got darker. So cool to see full on darkness. It got cooler here too! Enjoy trip. Can’t wait to see more
Great job! Way better than the annoying TV coverage I watched.
This was so good! I teared up! Thank you for sharing
Wow you guys were super lucky with the clouds. Great video! I got to experience almost 4 minutes of totality near Cleveland it was Amazing!
It was so great seeing your enthusiasm over the total eclipse! We saw it locally here in Ohio and were equally enthralled. First 2017, now 2024 for us. Have a great trip!

I love how everyone who experienced it had the same wonderful reaction!! It was like being part of something larger than ourselves, all experiencing this together from different places.
I saw it in PA and the clouds cooperated! I love that you captured the bird night songs
I remember that one in 1999. VH1 played total eclipse of the heart on repeat all day! 😱 Ah the memories 🤣
Awe yay weclome to TX! I live so close to Grapevine! :) So glad you guys got to enjoy it!
I went to grapevine from vegas just to see the eclipse and Also went to meow wolf. We shared a weekend trip.

How cool!
Radical!!!
Sam said the sky during the eclipse looked like the tv show Hero. I totally loved that tv series! Here in St Louis area, we had a 98 percent eclipse. I saw it with 3 pairs of sunglasses while looking at it in a windshield screen. But the sky got fairly dark and it cooled down quite a lot too.
We enjoyed 3 minutes of totality in ATX. So cool! 😎 Glad you guys got to experience it as well in Grapevine.
So happy that you got to experience Totality. I saw it in 2017 and it’s life changing. It made me feel insignificantly small in such an amazing universe. Nothing will ever come close to experiencing that again 🌑

It really feels like a divinity or higher power of some sort doesn’t it? It’s insane
Welcome to Texas! I'm in Dallas right next to Grapevine and I had to work, but I still got to see it outside my downtown office! So glad you came this way to experience it! You'll have to come back our way when the Universal resort opens in Frisco!
That was crescent fresh!
Jackie, you actually made me snort laugh when you said you think you burnt a hole in your retina.
Your joy during the eclipse is unmatched. It was so real and touching. Love is video!

I had been so waiting for yours and Sam’s reactions and I am so happy you got a cloud parting just in time, how incredible! ♥️ So jelly of all of those in the path of totality, but I get so much joy out of watching peoples reactions, it’s that realization of how small we are in this amazing & infinite universe. I also just recently learned about Meow Wolf 😱, a friend who lives in TX posted some pics, and I was so intrigued! We need one in Orlando!!!
Thank you so much. Great video. ❤
Great video! Loved it! 🥰
a wonderful day xx
Awesome !
That was amazing !
You’re an outstanding KZread channel.
Thank you for that amazing experience. So glad you two managed to get to my state! We are north west of Dallas area, so we were not in path of totality. It got a bit darker here but not like you all were experiencing. I'm thrilled to experience this through your eyes...it was spectacular. At 73, I don't think I will have many more of these chances. so I am thankful for your video. Enjoy the rest of your trip and be safe! Wave at me if you go through Chillicothe, TX.
Wow that is amazing! You could even see a couple of stars!!
Awww, you guys were so close to where I live! It was so amazing that the clouds parted at just the right time yesterday around here. So glad you guys got to enjoy it around here.
Wow ! that was pretty great, you did a great job showing it...I'm in California and it was not as great as that! Great Job
Amazing!
Thank you for sharing your experience. Wow In NJ we had 80% and we saw just a sliver left of the sun. The sky was strange but did not get dark. What a great experience.🌖🌚🌔
Jackie, it was so awesome to see the eclipse! Your complete awe and excitement over this incredible celestial event was truly amazing! Things turned out so perfectly for you and Sam! That was an excellent decision to go to the pool of your hotel. It gave you a clear view of the sky and not a lot of other people around. It was perfect timing that the clouds parted at just the right moment, yet were there to make it possible to see with your camera. So glad you both properly used your Eclipse glasses, you are absolutely correct, severe and permanent eye damage can occur if one looks directly at the sun during an eclipse. This was a truly Awesome Adventure and a unique experience! Stay safe on your travels and I look forward to seeing the rest of your journey! 👋
Thank you so much Jackie & Sam 😊. We watched the eclipse on the NASA channel (at home in England) and yours was by far the best coverage x❤x

That means so much!!!
Very cool. 👍👏🙏
WOW thank you great video
I just love how excited you both were in the video! Glad you were here in Texas to take part in the Eclipse. Happy Travels!!!
Love how excited you both got! Def living up to the channel name with this one 😂. Loved seeing all the footage of it over the last day and gutted we didn’t get to see it in the UK but I have seen one before so have that at least
Incredible you guys ❤❤
Great Episode. We saw it in Texas too. 👏👏👏👏👏
This is exactly what I experienced in Dallas! My expectations were low because I was looking at the weather for the past week and it was nothing but clouds and a chance of rain, so when I flew to Dallas I was a bit disappointed by all the clouds.......then suddenly, the clouds partied and the skies cleared the moment totality happened! I'm still speechless!
It is crazy to see how slowly it got dark for you in Texas, in my town in Canada, it literally got pitch black in minutes. Great job capturing this!
I was excited to see it but I never realized how moved I would be by it. Truly a peaceful and spiritual experience!
I'm glad you guys were able to see the Eclipse. In South FL we only got partial coverage. Have to wait for 2045.
That’s so awesome that yall got to experience it 🫶🏼
I am so glad you got to experience this and share with us. I went from my home in Kentucky to an hour away into Indiana and saw the totality. I was with a lot of people, and we all started cheering! It was so awesome, and I will never forget it.
nice eclipse vlog awsome content
That was brilliant, thanks . You need to do a short video of you taking ur glasses on and off. Made me laugh. So excited.
Great great job Jackie I live in Wisconsin and we saw it here but of course it wasn’t a total one here but we thought it was wonderful here !!!
Here in East Tennessee, I got to see the moon enter over the Sun as a black dot over about five o'clock on the face of the sun for about a minute😮 and then the clouds went over and it started raining. We were supposed to be able to see ninety percent totality here, but it rained right over East Tennessee. In 2017, luckily, my front yard was in the path of totality. So that one was exciting. We had clear skies for it. I hate that we missed this one. I'm so glad you got to see it.
The total eclipse was awesome. I was in Ohio, It was my fourth total eclipse of the Sun In totality. 70,72,17,24, and thinking of Egypt and 27. Great video

Amazing!!!
I'm so glad yall got to see it. Even though you told me right after that it was a success, while the clouds were still there in the vid, I'm yelling at my screen for the clouds to bloody MOVE! LOL. This was the 2nd one for us and it was just as amazing, but the 2017 one, being my first, I got emotional a little bit. If you happen to see my coverage, we were on a very quiet spot, and you could hear the crickets chirping when totality happened.
We love watching y’all!!! This was so exciting to see today!! Better than the news yesterday! 😂
Im in the UK and I was telling my boys about the total eclipse that happened in 1999. Distinctly remember it going dark and cold and the birds fell silent. What a great experience you two had! So glad it was well worth it 😊
this is a great video my friend you should have been in Carbondal IL to see this we had clear skys but i saw it from my place in christopher it was something to see..
Jackie Great travel stream. Thank You for sharing.
Prolly the coolest thing Ive seen here in Ohio we also had total totality! I didn't think much of it until it happened and it was so freaking cool!!
We got so lucky in grapevine. The clouds parted in time.

Yes it was perfect!!
Amazing video❤
I saw it in SC in 2017 it an experience even 80% this time was something to experience. Those were planets you saw.
Feel like we were pretty lucky during the eclipse here in Indiana as it had been raining days leading up and after. But I totally get what you mean when you say you can see and feel ...the light of the day and the temperature changing...it was so wild! Glad you all got to capture this amazing moment.❤
What a great video , it’s a shame I can only give you 1 👍.
The video makes it look small but it was indeed a huge sight to behold.
Super Enthused, This is great! Let's be friends and have fun together!
It really was cool
So glad you got to see it. Not as crazy as the house. What was that?! Hi from England. Loving the road trip. Love to you both xxx
Oh, and I also wanted to thank you for making other content. Other than the amusement parks America has so much more to see, and I’m so happy that you are sharing the other parts with us.
You were in my neck of the woods. I live 10 minutes from Grapevine. ❤
We watched this after return home from watching the Totality from Maumee Bay State Park in Ohio. We were so nervous for you guys when it looked like the clouds might block it out! It is such an amazing thing to see. We were very happy for you guys we enjoyed our experience so much!
This was my second total solar eclipse. I love seeing other people’s reaction. It is truly awe-inspiring. Glad you guys got to see it.
Awesome vid, yeah, I barely noticed it from Miami 😅
I'm in awe as well, thanks for sharing with us. I love how even the birds were excited, "popping off", lol. Definitely one for the books❤😎🌒🌑
I can't believe it, my wife and I drove down from Oklahoma City to see the eclipse and we were at Grapevine Mills, too! We didn't know Meow Wolf was having a thing, or we would have gone. It would have been great to meet both of you. I'm so glad the clouds cooperated.
Absolutely awesome time-lapse Jackie! You are getting very good at them. 😎
At 28.08 !! See the face in the clouds???????? WOW! Scary 😱
That was WILD seeing night fall! Y’all killed it capturing it for those of us not in the path.
I'm so glad the clouds parted for you! I was in totality, too, and it really was one of the coolest things I've ever seen with my own eyes. Just awesome, literally!
Yesterday's eclipse was awesome!!! We were lucky enough to live in the part of Ohio where we just had to walk out to our front yard to watch it. Something I'll never forget.

I live in North Ridgeville - just west of Cleveland & skies were clear & watched from my driveway - it was truly amazing!!!!
We saw totality a few years ago here in Kentucky! So excited you all got to experience it! Your "enthusiasm" was contagious!!
What a wonderful moment and memory. It was surreal when the skies went dark 😮 🌒
Awesome Eclipse video Jackie!! That was so cool! You and Sam got some good views of the Eclipse!! So great you guys got to enjoy watching it for a few minutes and experience it!! ❤️😊😊
It really was one of the coolest things I’ve ever gotten to witness in my life. It was such a cool experience. Sitting here with my son and watching that it was amazing. 🌕🌙🌑
Well done and nobody went blind!
Loved seeing your great coverage of your Solar Eclipse experience! You guys are having the best time and looking forward to seeing where you guys end up!!
