We planned where we were going to stay in Cairo very carefully because we'd heard about the tough traffic and we wanted to avoid some well-known properties that were a bit run down. We also knew we wanted good and safe food choices, new rooms and all the creature comforts because Cairo is exotic enough that we wanted our hotel to be an oasis. It turned out that the Sonesta was an inspired choice: we had a fabulous visit, so here's our review.
