I met my boyfriend in art class when we were in 8th grade (we’re sophomores in college and have been together for 5.5 years now). That teacher caught us holding hands under the table and separated us across the room from each other. Someday when we get married, I wanna invite her to my wedding just to spite her! Haha

My great grandparents met in the 1950’s at around 12 years old. They are now in their early 80s and still love each other unconditionally

I never understood the “high school relationships will fail” thing. My brother & SIL started dating when they were 16. They got married when they were 25 & have now been together a total of 20 years & have 3 children. My parents started dating at 16& 17, got married at 23 & 24, & have been married now for 40 years.

@I'm Darwin that’s not always true, I’ve always been very kind and I’ve never purposely been mean to anyone, but I was in an abusive relationship for 6 almost 7 years. I was told to leave them by my family, friends, and even by my partners mother. I knew I should have but every time I would bring up to them how toxic our relationship our relationship was they would make me feel like I was the problem to make me stay with them. So no it’s not always like how you said.

I am happy for them and their journey, I am also sure they had their own hardships and troubles. I am also happy for my journey though everything led me to where I am and I can say now I have found someone whom I would trust with more than my life. My husband and I started dating at 18. Married at 21. Married 30 years. Our daughter married the person who has been her best friend since she was 10 years old just this past May. Shes 28 and he’s the first boy she ever kissed when she was 12. The ceremony was in his parents back yard. The reception was in ours…because that’s where they grew up playing together .

That I don't doubt hs sweethearts can become lifelong soul mates, because people's doubt of us, initially led me to decline 3 of my husband's proposals 😔 But when he asked the 4th time, it was so thoughtful, elaborate and funny that involved, very specific to us, bits in a scavenger hunt..... that he put so much time an effort and STILL hadn't given up on me being his wife, that I dropped to my knees with him and cried, holding both a lifesaver and the engagement ring 💍 I had designed in a sketch after I witnessed my sister's engagement. I hope for those who want have a long term, committed relationship to not lose out on opportunities because of other people's doubts, or even your own. Red flags are one thing, don't stay somewhere where you are hurt, physically, emotionally or mentally- even if it's only a few incidents: when someone shows their true colors, believe them! However, we all have flaws, fears and behaviors that are detrimental to a healthy relationship- and I believe if you both want to achieve longevity, it's possible IF you both are willing to put in the same effort 💞 I had thought by sharing that we are embarking on our last journey together, here, but still committed to our relationship, and our family, without fear because of love ❤️ I didn't want to sadden anyone, I had actually thought it might be worth letting folks know. Even the scariest parts, especially when you've been given spoilers for the future, can be beautiful, if you choose that 🫂

To those who are in a relationship and are still at school: School relationships fail most of the time. Consider yourself lucky if it works out into something serious over the years. They don't generally work out because you are still growing and you both may grow into totally different people who want totally different things. And that's okay. I say try your best to work it out, but if it doesn't, it's fine. Don't force it just to make it last nor end it just because it's the average. Relationships are work, and if you are committed to work on them, give them a shot.

Plus I was a Freshman in highschool and he was still finishing middle school. They teased me endlessly saying, he was far to young lol.. As if the year and half age gap means much after highschool. I’m with you there! I’m middle aged and single which is worse! I have no husband and no kids. No one to sleep next to, no one to go to a movie with, no one to help me around the house doing things I don’t know how to do, no one to help pay the bills, etc, etc. some days it’s a perfect setup! Other days it sucks! I can’t get my dog or my cat to even wash a dish or sweep the floor! I guess I’ll always be alone and be stuck in a nursing home by my brothers kids one day!

I me met my partner when I was 15. 13 years later, he finds a new way to make me smile every single morning. It’s work, a willingness to listen, and the devotion to do anything for that person. We grew together as people. We are both vastly different people than we were when we met, and it makes me so happy that I’ve gotten to grow and follow life with him by my side.
