We only did one IVF cycle and we had to freeze everything right away because I had OHSS & my doc didn't want me to get pregnant that way. They were able to retrieve 50+ eggs so it was no surprise to him. Thankfully I didn't have a severe case & wasn't hospitalized or have to be drained. I'm still in awe of how much fluid they had to drain from you! You are such a trooper! Hang in there...all these hard times will make you stronger, wiser parents someday :)

Hey guys! Have just started watching your videos ! Can I ask what trigger you used for egg retrieval ? And how many days after your egg retrieval the symptoms started?

I'm wondering if you had anesthesia for your drainings. I was drained for OHSS without anesthesia and it was quite unpleasant.

I can't believe how much fluid you had drained out of you Sarah I've had ohss twice out of 4 IVF cycles and ended up in hospital for a week both times and mason you are right my doctor told me that people with pcos are more likely to get ohss and can have serious consequences

G'morning!! Let's see being cold... I think it's a girl thing and a super skinny person thing. 😜 OHSS! Yea you've been mentioning making a video about it for quite a long time! I had I think... "Mild" OHSS but I wonder if it was more severe than I thought and just dealt with it instead of going in for the pain. Was it bad that they sucked the fluid out? Would your re have sucked the fluid out if you had gone to him? My re says I am boarder line PCOS. My bloating/pain lasted about 2 weeks then gradually went away but it was very *very* uncomfortable. Wow! That's a lot of fluid! No wonder I felt so sick!! If mine was anywhere near yours. I had so many protein drinks/Gatorade that I am surprised I didn't throw it all up! Oh my goodness those before/after photos are crazy! Do they put you under when taking out the fluid? I really don't want to have to do another egg retrieval but with only 2 embryos left it's a pretty big possibility. 😥

+Sienna XoXo It's crazy! We were totally not prepared for OHSS...this was a pretty extreme case, but it can effect a lot of people to varying degrees. Theres no way we could have gone without the draining...Sarah was miserable and unable to eat. Praying that we never have to do that again...glad you made it through :) and praying YOU never have to deal with it again either!

Question: What dosage did they start you on? My doc is planning to start me on 4.5x as much as I was on 2 years ago - where I made 10 eggs... a little worried! Do you think it's inappropriate to question the dosage? (they have us take the meds for 6! days before going back)

Question everything! It's your body and you're paying a small fortune- be the squeaky wheel. There's never any harm in double checking and asking some questions.

+A Nelson I'm going to agree...Question everything...there is too much stress in this process to add worrying about dosage to the mix...you can trust the doctors and still ask questions. :) It is in no way inappropriate.
