Great show as ever. Luke being sensible this season with champions prediction, OMG. I dont think you can look past Chesterfield. As you said were better than us at wembley and have added some quality to last seasons squad. I shall be watching with interest, and for sure will be joining your weekly podcasts. Good video as usual Luke, hoping chesterfield have a cracking season and win the league comfortably but I’m sure it’ll be tight knowing the National league.

Ooof. Paul not messing about with that Sarfend prediction. 🤕 I can see the know-how of the backroom team being enough to keep them clear of trouble. The only way they will get relegated is if they get a points deduction or actually fold.

Thanks for this fascinating video. I have watched other NL prediction videos and The y all agree that Chesterfield will runaway with the coming season. As one of the Notts fans who was at the Wembley Playoff final, We saw such great quality from Chesterfield. As for me, I have a soft spot for York City and Hope that they have a great season. I have a sneaking admiration for Boreham Wood and I wish that someone would pour a lot of money into Boreham Wood. They deserve more than they get. I will be following the national league throughout the season, By the way, my prediction is that Woking will be second.

Chesterfield fan here, i reckon it will be a close season, i think we will drop stupid points against some of the lesser known sides, but still can see us winning it. Lets be honest, if we don't, when will we😅 still think we need another striker and another CB in, we play a high line with CB's(other than palmer) that turn like lorrys and have the pace of a slug🤣

As a hartlepool united fan, I am happy with both of you putting hartlepool in the playoffs, I will take that I think we could just finish outside playoffs due to things happening off the pitch due to our club being up for sale and the fans not being happy with the owner

Solihull moors won't get relegated sure we have lost some key players but there's no chance we go down we have signed some good players

Such an open league this year. So many teams have spent big this summer and it will all depend on who gels and how quickly.

Barnet in 10th? Not added much quality? Brunt on a permanent deal might even be an upgrade on RdH. Potter back for a full season. RHJ & Oluwo in. 2 of 3 issues last season were both WB positions and we've signed 1 on each side, (possibly both an upgrade on what we already had). Add another striker and I think Chesterfield might be chasing us.

You’ve lost Smith and RdH, you don’t actually know how Brunt will turn out. Like I’ve mentioned teams started to figure your out towards the end of last season. I get playoffs but winning the league is a bit too ambitious😂

@@lukewalsh-vnlpodcast1799 Yeah of course it's ambitious, but I'm honestly really feeling it. RdH is a loss, no doubt about it, & I think you are right about any new signing coming in being an unknown quantity. Don't get me wrong, I think Brunt will be really good, but of course I don't know. He's not the big signing though. Oluwu at centre half is good, but it's the lack of a 2nd full back on each side that cost us riduculous points last season & we've gone and signed 2. RHJ seems fantastic! Also expect big season from Armstrong who might actually be the one who replaces RdH. Hugely different type of player. Need another striker though. Smith was good, but actually disrupted the way we played. Teams didn't work us out. We stopped playing & reverted to re-start football at times because of Smith. Anyway, good video as usual. 👍

Our squad is undeniably better than it was last season and more well balanced, we have recruited for our 5 at the back system. The question is whether we can overturn our sorry looking xG numbers into something more sustainable long term as even with improvements this is still concerning and cannot be overlooked. I am a pessimistic bees fan but I see us in the playoffs this season, mostly down to DB. Dean Brennan at times won matches on his own. He managed several games where he was so adaptable to tactical tweaks depending on how the game went and these changes worked wonders. This is why I think the argument that teams figured us out is partly redundant as DB has so many strings to his bow, rarely stuck to one system. I believe our drop off was due to 1. Changing the system to accommodate Smith and 2. Injuries to key players in key positions. Additionally we have signed players that will give us more options tactically. Players like Kanu, Collinge, Brunt, Oluwu are young talents that could have massive seasons and be the some of the best players in their respective positions in this league. What will prevent us from getting in the playoffs is that it’s a strong competitive league and you have to leave out other teams who look strong as well. But the quality of the manager I believe is the difference, I have not seen a bees manager get more out a current crop of players than DB.

Not a chance Fylde finish that low. A bit of a generalisation to say any side coming up has to be considered to finish towards the bottom. Look at Salford,Harrogate,Fleetwood,Fylde,Eastleigh,Ebbsfleet,Boreham Wood over the years. All have finished in the play-offs within a year or two of being in the division.

There is a very good reason that people don't watch Boring Wood. 😂 (Garrard is a hell of a manager though).
