A key part of our strategy is to help the sickest patients get the emergency care they need as quickly as possible and to make sure people do not have to stay in hospital any longer than is absolutely necessary. Virtual wards allow patients to get the care they need at home safely and conveniently, rather than being in hospital. Here, Michael from Hailsham tells how he avoided an admission to hospital by being treated on a virtual ward instead.
