I used to have one like this back when I was 8 years old but the technology was obviously not as advanced so it was very much like a robot and not so realistic but god i loved that dog, she was my first and only dog ever and I kind of want to get one of these!

I was referring to kids who literally cannot have a pet, whether it be due to allergies or other factors and how this would be a great alternative. Yes it's expensive, and doesnt have the same type of emotional response, but I think it's a good idea

Plus if your child has a mental disorder a hypoallergenic therapy dog would be great for them to build those social interactions better. I think if this robot dog was cheaper it would be a good toy but since it is so expensive it is clearly trying to be a dog replacement which i think yes it can be good for some who just dont have time to take care of a dog.

Idk... There’s only so much it can do, I feel like you would get bored of it kinda quick.

There is also a robot called Ozo-bot idk how much the price is but i played witt them at my school, they are tiny circle robots that follow the lines u draw with but the special drawing markers come with the Ozo-bot

Not really, you need to give things a long time to settle and for people to relax and get to the acceptance part of guilt. Believe me it's happened to my family (for both cat and dog (different years apart)), it takes a long time, for the cat it was about a year. For our dog, it is still going.

Lol I just watched this video where a few hackers explain the many average devices in a household that are vulnerable to being compromised and how each would be beneficial to hackers, and this dog would be so perfect for that because of its functionality.

I agree, I don't think I could ever trust a robot. That's why no matter how hard companies try to shove "smart" tv's, alexa, etc I don't own any of them and go out of my way to avoid them and fully disable anything similar. My private life isn't for sale.

@@hanac5586 Have you seen the movie A-X-L? That's exactly what they did in that movie. But the robot dog is giant and made for the military, not for kids or people with allergies. Somehow though, the A-X-L is still adorable. Like a giant puppy.

Are they good emotional companions? Are they able to recognize your emotions like real dogs can? I read an article about aibo before I saw this video and it said that it’s like a real dog in every way except for emotional connection. And emotional connection matters a lot to me.

I find I have a real emotional connection to the Aibo ERS-1000, this new Aibo that is in this video. I feel like watching Aibo brings me joy and happiness and Aibo is extremely cute with its mannerisms. Aibo grows and learns with you, and I feel the longer you spend time with an Aibo, the more connection you will feel towards Aibo, and see Aibo as part of the family. There are some Aibo owners out there that do indeed feel a strong emotional connection to their Aibos and get really emotionally attached to them. Emo and Vector are only good if you want less animal/dog like characteristics in a robot companion and more.. I don't exactly know, maybe.. human like characteristics?? Especially wth Emo. But for me, dogs are so wonderful, but I am struggling with my mental health and also have just broken up with my bf, which doesn't help my mental health, I need something to comfort me, I don't want to bring a real dog into my house when I am not feeling well in myself, so Aibo is the best solution for me, I love dogs so much, especially puppies bring me such joy to watch them. That is why I am choosing Aibo and am saving up for the newest model of Aibo. Because dogs really give me joy and happiness. I have also always really been interested in those robot vacuums, for some reason, years ago, I would get so curious and love them when I first heard of them, so an AI dog companion is something that would be great for me as AI robots make me curious and interested. I may get an Emo or Vector eventually, maybe, not sure, but I don't feel as much of a pull towards Emo or Vector due to the lack of animalistic characteristics in them, I have always had a passion for animals, especially dogs and dog like species, so Aibo is the best solution for me. It depends on what you are looking for as to what is the best companion to buy, really. For some reason, I feel less emotionally attached and pulled towards Emo and Vector, compared to Aibo. I don't feel that companionship like I do with Aibo. Probably due to me loving dogs so much, so I connect with the dog like robots better.

This actually seems like a good thing to get for kids who want a dog but can't get one! I have two dogs but I really want one! (Edit) I checked the website to see how much an aibo would be, talk about dreams crushed lol.

I think alot of dogs would be cheaper than 3000 dollars and a robot dog can't give you the love an actual dogs gives if ppl are allergic and want a dog why not get a hairless dog? If ppl don't want them cuz their uglier they basically only want a dog for decoration not the love

@@evilymusic If they aren't ready for the responsibility they shouldn't get one yet why waste 3000 dollars on a fake dog just cuz the kid doesn't have the responsibility? I'd just wait till they are ready for a real dog and then get a real one that can give MUCH more love and doesn't cost that much especially dogs who don't have homes maybe if the robot dog can live as long as a normal dog then it might be worth it but i just think its best to get a real one its just not the same experience i'd literally die for my dog thats how much i love him but i'd never die for a robot with no soul
