Love this video! I watch and save them all under your name. You have a beautiful family. I am a grandmother, age 72. I also have 2 sons and a daughter. Best part I enjoyed was your comments at the end regarding tv watching/screen time etc. I absolutely know how much time can slip away and in my case I pass the point of going to bed when ai am a little sleepy, to the point I am up all night some nights and then have a big problem getting my nights and days turned around!! So I do have a big garden and am trying to do more outside, planting flowers, etc. Balance Is always the key, and when I work outside or even run errands like grocery shop, going to Lowe’s for mulch, plants, etc. I get more steps in and am trying to also wear my watch to count those steps. I am always tired 🥱 when I do more out of the house. I prefer doing things outside the house, maybe my personality or the fact I was raised with two brothers, I being the middle child like your Evie was a tomboy! No matter how many cute feminine ruffles and lace dresses my mom made me and she, like her mother, was an exceptional seamstress, I would come home from school after climbing in all the gym equipment with several safety pins holding my beautiful hand made dresses together. I’m sure my mom wanted me to be this little feminine looking little girl but my personality was such, I wanted to keep up with the boys.😂 Anyway I digress. Love your videos and it brings back memories of my time as a young mom. Miss those days still! ❤

I love it all. My Grandma had a pump like that on her sink and we played with a slip n slide and lots of bubbles too. So much fun with families that can play together. My Grandpa made a swing in his big tree for us too. Loved playing outside. That is such a beautiful area. You have a beautiful family.

I agree with you about screen time. Kids needs nature and real life experiences. There’s alot of garbage on movies and tv shows and apps on our phones. I do not have kids however i am 46 years of age and I been rethinking screen time. Especially What June stands for. Summer is nice weather time. Thanks for reminding me about how to rethink my screen time.

I so enjoy how you allow your children to explore the world around them, to get dirty, solve challenges on their own, and learn by doing. I love that Gideon and Evie were barefooted while playing, too. As for the screen time, I agree with you. Even though my children are grown, it's important to me to be present when others are around, even at home. But, even more importantly, as you said, it's better for my mental health to limit my social media time. Finally, I just adore your gentleness and kind spirits, and your genuine nature. Thank you for being "real", and not trying to be the TV personality you could be....your fans love you all!

I agree. Gentleness from the Lord. You two are genuine in every way. I watch families and some have gotten a bit worldly so it is good for all of us to remember that we are not of this world. Life goes by so fast. Being there for each other is huge. Enjoy the outdoors and your own family. Your phone and tv will always be there your kids won't. Before you know it they are grown and on their own. Good for you because usually you learn this too late.

Im 71 yrs old. Retired. Single with a little rescue dog Buddy. I purchased a used 25 ft camper and moved into it fulltime. I totally agree with you on the TV & Social media time. I purposely took down the TV that came with the camper and gave it away. It has changed everything for me. I LOVE being outdoors more and ive been hand quilting and knocking out these quilts and i make prayer journals and these have gone to 25+ women friends. I wasted so much time watching TV etc. But im so done with that and im so present witb family and friends. God is so good like that that He gave me clarity about that wasteful time Thank you for sharing about that. Have a great time at friends wedding. Travelling mercies.

As long as it works for you and it sounds like it does, that is all that matters. It's so easy to get caught up watching tv or being on the internet. So much of our precious time gets wasted.

Everything in moderation. There's absolutely nothing wrong with screen time whether it's your phone, the tv, video games etc. but *everything in moderation.* Set an alarm if that'll help. These days a lot of social media apps have built in timers you can utilize to help set limits for yourself for daily or weekly use. Like Joy if you feel it's taking over your life then there's no harm in taking a short break for awhile. We live in a digital world so it can be difficult to eliminate screens altogether but sometimes it's good for the soul to unplug for awhile. Again, moderation is key.

Ps: thanks for the tv reminder!! I think in this day and age that is probably an issue with many people. People lived all of their lives in the past centuries without tv. I’m sure they survived and accomplished more!! Yesterday is past, tomorrow is not promised, today is the present 🎁. Living with intention is a good thing!

I have a huuuge amount of screen time… but a lot is music playing, or a long format vlog playing while I work.. and texting, and asking my 2 older kids if they finished things or if they can do something or checking up on them.. and chatting with my cousin in England and my husband back and forth..

My kids best memories as kids are their grandparents land and camping. They still to this day try and get together with all their cousins to camp. The transition from being kids, having all that fun and growing up is hard on them all though I've realized 😂 they really miss it. Screen time.. this is your job. It's life. It's new to you to not be present 24/7 because you work. Maybe write down your ideas or what to watch/ listen to be more intentional. I listen to KZread with an earbid so I don't feel guilty. Most things you can listen to and not watch.

Seems a lot of people don’t consider their animals part of the family life around. The new baby part was largely on Evie’s part. Plus, I wonder if the same people who were bothered would have been just as bothered if she had announced another pregnancy. Why not just watch people you enjoy watching? I love seeing Joy and Austin with their children. So natural!

Good for you for taking the social media break! I am doing that for the month of June. No IG (it's the only social I have), no streaming Netflix, Hulu, etc. I've allowed myself to watch some YT, but much less than before. Time does fly by when these devices are on and it's easy to rack up the hours mindlessly. I've also challenged myself to be outside more, walk, read Psalms and the Gospel and read a book a week. It's only been since this past Monday and I already feel so much better. Our minds need to be challenged, especially the older we get. I'm 61!
