Please Note: Different Bibles contain different translations of Biblical passages. The image of the cloud is referenced here from the Catholic Douay-Rheims Bible. Protestant and Modern translations will list it as a hand, palm leaves, etc. The Carmelite Order and Catholic Bibles before the 20th century all listed it as a foot.
The verse from the Third Book of Kings that tells us about the little cloud is this:
“And Elias went up to the top of Mount Carmel, and casting himself down upon the earth put his face between his knees. And he said to his servant: Go up, and look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked and said: There is nothing. And again he said to him: Return seven times. And at the seventh time: Behold a little cloud arose out of the sea like a man’s footstep. And he said: Go up, and say to Achab: Prepare thy chariot, and go down, lest the rain prevent thee.
“And while he turned himself this way and that way, behold the heavens grew dark, with clouds and wind, and there fell a great rain” (III Kings, 18:43-45).
This expectation of Elias for the rain - the Redemption that would save the earth from the draught - and his idea that the little cloud was a symbol of the Virgin Mary were the reasons why Elias’ followers began to come and pray at Mount Carmel for the advent of Our Lady and Our Lord. Those hermits of Mount Carmel were considered the beginning of the Carmelite Order, which is the firstborn of the Religious Orders and also the first dedicated to Our Lady. Because of this particular episode, Elias is considered the first devotee of the Virgin Mary in History.
The following texts taken from the book Éllie le Prophète selon les Écritures et les Traditions Chrétiennes [Elias, the Prophet according to Scriptures and Christian Traditions] from the Carmelite Studies collection (Desclée de Brower, 1956, 2 volumes), confirm this tradition:
• From the top of Carmel Mount, “I could gaze long on that point in the horizon where the servant of Elias saw the small cloud rising from the sea, the symbol of the fecund grace which the Immaculate Virgin would attract to earth.” (Fr. Paul Marie de la Croix, O.C.D., ibid, vol. 1, p. 23).
• “Carmelite writers interpret the small cloud as a figure of the Virgin Mary” (Fr. De Vaux, O.P., ibid, vol. 1, p. 64.
• “God revealed to Elias under the symbol of the small cloud a young woman, the Blessed Virgin Mary” (Fr. Daniel de la Vierge, O.C.D., ibid, vol. 2, p. 31).
• “There is a relation between the Madonna as contemplated by Elias and the same figure seen by St. John ” Signum magnum apparuit in caelo [A great sign appeared in the heavens]. Elias also considered Mary as a signum. Elias saw her as a small cloud rising from the sea; St. John saw her standing, her feet on the crescent moon, which is [like the sea] an image of changeability” (Fr. Bruno Borchert, O.C.D., ibid, vol. 2, p.31).
• “The symbolism of the small cloud whereby the Prophet acknowledged the Virginity of Mary and her fecund Maternity was already spotlighted in the sixth book of the Institutions of the First Monks [Speculum Carmelitanum, 1680, n. 22, p. 56]” (Fr. Elisée de la Nativité, O.C.D., ibid, vol. 2, p. 97).
We hope that these confirmations suffice to assure you of the Carmelite tradition of interpreting the small cloud as a symbol of the Virgin Mary.

My daughter is blessed to be born on Mount Carmel feast day
As a person who was outside the Catholic Church, this information changed my life. Protestants are told to reject Mary, now I see how silly that is. The information on microchimerism was fascinating and so true. I have now watched all three films and I couldn't pick a favorite. I HIGHLY recommend also watching the Fatima-Immacutale Heart and Our Lady of Perpetual Help videos, they are just as good as this one. Love all the prayer videos too! Thank you so much. Next year I will be wearing this holy scapular for 50 years.
I have a scapula next to my bed, I got it when my Godmother passed away. After praying the rosary I looked up and it said "a sign of salvation" then I thought let me find out more about this story ❤❤❤ I came across this video. I just had a week prior to this of understanding this Jezebel and how our society and women are just abandoning their call and purpose. I needed to hear. I live only about 35 miles from the Shrine and Carmelite Friary at Aylesford, Kent, England. St Simon Stock was the first Prior. The Priory was first built in 1252, it was closed in the Reformation, but in 1949 the Carmelites purchased it back and rebuilt the Shrine between then and 1967. I have not been there since before Covid. However, I will be going to Lourdes next week [July 28 2023].

I love the Scapular of our Lady of Mount Carmel. I had some bad years not wearing it but I've been enrolled in it for a very long time. It's an honor.
Thanks for the video.. I was educated in convent of congregation belonged to our Lady of Mount Carmel.. During school days i wore scapular but discontinued.. But today I felt the mistake so planning to wear again till death.. Thank you for igniting the faith and prayer for our Lady 🙏🙏
Thank you, it caused a renewal of my wearing the scapular. My Italian Great Grandmother named one of her daughters Carmella, her sister had my mother and her middle name is Carmella, and she gave birth to me on the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel so it was natural that I wear it. The consecration of Russia will be Her Triumph and through St Joseph this will be obtained hopefully before the 2000th anniversary of the life, death, and resurrection of Our Lord, I've a feeling Our Lady would desire this post 1960.
I am surprised how few have viewed this excellent video. I ask our Blessed Mother to recommend this video to the spiritually troubled.

My mother wanted me to wear it faithfully as a child since I was born on that day. Of course, once I went to school and was taunted by the kids, I stopped. I came back to the church 20 years ago, at 50, but only a few years ago remembered about the scapular. I was not aware of the confraternity until even more recently - and asked my priest to enroll me. He said he could not because it was a long process. I consecrated myself to Blessed Mary and always wear the scapular but hope that someday I will be officially enrolled - in her, and her Son's, time. 🙏. Thank you so much for this in depth history - I was not aware of how truly special this day is!

I am sorry to hear about the priest not enrolling you into the Brown Confraternity. I will pray for him since he neglected his duty as a pastor. Try to find another priest that will do the enrollment. Our Lady will send you one that is willing. I always have a deep reverence to the Brown Scapular. I gave one to.my father and mother. When my father died, I threw a brown scapular to his coffin when before his tomb was closed. The next day at 3:00 am, I dreamed of my father and I saw him came out from a very peaceful and radiant room. Then I woke up. I was happy for that dream. Truly, the brown scapular's promise of the Virgin Mary that those who died with the scapular will be saved from fire of hell.

Elias is an accurate rendering of the particular Greek version of Hebrew אֵלִיָּהוּ, romanized as ʾĒlīyyāhū. But there doesn't seem to be an "s" sound in the name as pronounced in the prophet's day. I would never tell a child that Elias is correct but Elijah is incorrect, considering the tendency to confuse "Elias" with "Elisha", and the fact that no "s" sound is in the original name.

Then after talking to me in actuality Her lips were moving and saying Latin asking her message to the people to pray. Then as I grow time passes she doesn't visits me in my dream..😔🙏 What this means of visiting me in my dream?! And stop😔🙏

I enjoyed learning about the Carmelite order. I must tell you however that the part about the little cloud of Elijah can not be substantiated consistently in Scripture. In the Douai Rheims the thick cloud is the size of a foot; in the New American Standard (Catholic edition) the cloud is the size of a man's hand. In both the emphasis is not on the shape but the size. Similar perhaps to when the Holy Spirit came down like a dove it means directly as a dove flies; the Spirit isn't a dove.

However, the proper translation of the cloud can be substantiated by the connection of the special grace received by Elias and the referral in the apocalypse by St. John, which has been confirmed by the Carmelite order for centuries. I only use the Douay-Rheims bible or Confraternity New Testament due to the continuous mistranslations in other Bibles, including the New American Standard (Catholic Edition). Many Bibles are very poorly translated. Other Bibles have stated it was palm leaves and various other shapes. God, by special grace, allowed him to understand the symbolisms of the cloud, the size (as you stated), fresh water cloud, and also the shape of a foot that was referring to the Book of Genesis and Our Lady's forthcoming conquering of Satan through the birth of Jesus and as Mediatrix of graces. “There is a relation between the Madonna as contemplated by Elias and the same figure seen by St. John ” Signum magnum apparuit in caelo [A great sign appeared in the heavens]. Elias also considered Mary as a signum. Elias saw her as a small cloud rising from the sea; St. John saw her standing, her feet on the crescent moon, which is [like the sea] an image of changeability” (Fr. Yes, there is- it is a common misunderstanding, and thank you for pointing it out. The Canon I am using is the classic Biblical Canon with its original listings/titles that are found in the Catholic Douay Rheims Bible and other translations, The Book of Kings is split into 4 books. Modern Catholic translations and Protestant versions have it split into the 1st & 2nd Book of Samuel and the 1st & 2nd Book of Kings, instead of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Book of Kings. Thank you for clarifying that. I have several versions of the Catholic Bible and The King James, and none of those have the books listed the way you mentioned. I lead Bible study groups. One of the goals of my life is to get Catholics to read and embrace the Word of God. It might be helpful if you mention the version of the Bible you are using. I love the story of Our Lady of Mt. I also use the Confraternity Catholic Bible for the New Testament. I should have brought that up in the video- as you said. Next video I will clarify which Bible was being used.
