I am a Sister of St. Joseph of Brentwood, NY and have just celebrated my 50th anniversary. In this time and age, I am considered a "young" Sister and am faced with the reality that our numbers are limited and our convents are closing. I am most grateful for the dignity and respect you continually shower upon this sacred building, especially on the chapel, which is always looked upon as the heart of the convent where the Sisters spend time in the presence of our God. It would be a tremendous gesture if when completed, you could invite the Sister back to see all you have done to their home. God bless the work of your hands. Would you know the name of the Congregation that lived there?

You are SO fortunate to have Alexander there on-site employing his amazing couturier skills to create those grand drapes for your equally grand salons. Not only would it have cost a fortune to order from a commercial curtain maker, but as the proper style for your Chateau is predicated upon the accurate arc of a swag, & a perfection in the pleating, Alexander has a more refined eye for such detail than you'd ever expect from even a high end "fabricant de draperie". From the video you've shot of him engaged in his craft, he appears to to treat each window as if it were a fine lady he's enrobing for some grand"bal de fantaisie"!

@@ThePethericks Then here's a thought, should you want to give him a break to have a little bit of fun (and of course provide You with some fodder for future video content!) As All Hallows Eve is but a few weeks away, perhaps you might exhume that shrieking harpy (which you and Gwen assiduously hid from him in some distant cubby) after Alexander had become somewhat... excessively... besotted (!?) with her following last year's Halloween party...and let him use any left over scraps from the more diaphanous sheer panels of your new drapes, to make his "mamsel du jour", a fancy new party frock for THIS years eerie event, as I recall her gown was somewhat the worse-for-wear, after his amorous attempt to try to teach her to Tango?!? 🥰😲

@@michaelmanning5379 Perhaps she's being withheld from him as an incentive to more expeditiously complete his finely stitched, swagged & pleated undertaking? Thusly the châtelain of the castle sequestered the starry eyed Swiss seamstress (or in this instance "seam-ster??) into a lonely garret of his chateau, with only needle, thread, yards of velvet brocade & a big box of Lindt Chocolates... along with this singular directive: "As you [sew], so shall you reap!" 😍🥰

I really enjoy your channels. I am one man trying to renovate a small house by himself and making many mistakes with it. When I see you doing all that yourselves it really inspires me. From a decorative arts perspective it seems likely that many of the rooms in your chateau had Belgium loomed wall to wall carpet, quite common in the 19th century. The chateau main staircase is likely built for carpet also, with no part of the wood treads or risers intended to be left visible. You can still obtain the same exact wall to wall patterns that were used in the chateau in the 19th century because they are still commercially available from those same carpet mills in Belgium from which they originally came. Belgium had the market cornered on extremely broad carpet looms and all the American and European wealthy bought them there. Cheers

Billy: You have become quite the filmmaker! This video was stunning. Felt like I was in the theater! So professional! Music, camera angles, color, subject matter, everything about this video is so professional. I will actually view it again! Love seeing your dad, Ernest, your friends and helpers, the dogs, horses, the landscape. Then you transitioned so smoothly nto the Convent project. That will become Part II of this "classic." I add my commitment to the others who watch the journey of you and other chateau vloggers; we can enjoy chateau life vicariously through you. Will the chateau be let for weddings, events, etc.? Are there any fireplaces in the chateau that you can use to burn wood fires? Nevertheless, I'm glad you not only restored existing fireplaces but that you also uncovered some that were hidden! What a wonderful place to raise a family without everyone attached to their cellphones or big screen TV's! They are useful and entertaining but you have not chosen to be a slave to them but use them as tools for your chateau "business." You are blessed to have achieved so much in such a short time! Remember to take one day at a time, enjoy family/friends, and be blessed!

The first time I saw the Pethericks. Billy and Michael were trying to plug a hole in the chateau chimney to stop smoke leaking out. I fell in love with the show then and I’ve watched it ever since I’m totally in awe of the whole family Their work ethic is admirable. If there’s some problem to solve they’ll find a way. Now I follow the convent shows and look forward to see them every week I enjoy seeing the different projects they are all involved in. The music is also a pluss Thankyou the Petherick family.

What an amazing journey it has been! You, Gwen, and your family are so talented and resourceful. The Chateau is just beautiful, your children are beautiful, the Chateau pets are totally entertaining. So many stories have evolved from the work, play and social gathering there. The video revealed new information to me; I had no idea the number of rooms you have worked on, each one beautifully decorated. A courageous endeavor for all involved. Alexander, you make lovely drapes and are ab epic window washer!!

This video is great and is an excellent summary of all the work you and your family and friends have done over the last 5 years. The chateau, grounds and forested areas would be heaven for the children growing up. Who would want to move to a big city when you have this place ? Unlike some other channels "The Pethericks" is not contrived or artificial. It is a real family working hard together. Keep it up Billy.

What a great few minutes to see all your hard work in your new home, and of course, in the abandoned monastery, which I’m sure is no longer abandoneI pray one day you are able to have guest stay in your beautiful, renovated Château, like myself and my family, and, of course, visit your amazing monastery as well, keep on doing a great job. I love the fact that your family is so absolutely united and working together. That’s one of my most beautiful thoughts I’ll let you know how I feel about your family and your channel, much love and best wishes sent to you from Long Beach, Calif., Rosemary Hoffman 🌹
