Do it! I’ve had post pandemic fever went on 5 cruises this year an 2 more plan next year.

This is tough to watch since I want to be on a cruise ship so bad. You all certainly needed some chill time after the busy group cruise! Cheers my beloved friends!

I stayed at the resort next to Amber cove years ago, they were actually dredging and blasting at the time preparing to put the docks in. I remember how beautiful the beach was.

I love your videos , had to rewatch this one, were sailing on Norwegian Encore December 26 2021. This is our first port, can't wait.

Amber Cove is on my list and this video only makes me want to go more!I have seen KZread videos where people did walk to the beach and said it wasn't that bad. As always, thanks for sharing! Hopefully we will be cruising again soon!

Great idea with getting sand at every port. My wife says we have to go back to all of the ports we have been to so she can start her collection. 😊👍🏻🏝🛳🍹

When you do its best to have an excursion because while the port is nice. There's not much to do there.

So pretty. We went in January 2020. The Damajagua Waterfall excursion was the best! Plus I love stones and Larimar is only found in the Dominican republic so I had to get some.

I went to La Romana, DR on a December Carnival cruise in 2003. It was the HOTTEST place I have ever been!!!

We went to Amber Cover when Carnival re-routed the Horizon due to Covid-19 The first week of March. The day we arrived it was torrential rain all day. Our excursion was cancelled not due to rain but operational issues...Thank God..it saved us a couple hundred bucks.... any beach excursions went on as scheduled. We didn't get off the ship. Looks like you had great weather.

Good night??? First, yes they have a wrap-around promenade. That beach near Amber Cove was great. You did perfect with"Puerto Plata". There are other things to do besides the sad coffee hacienda tour or so. I hope you found the deli by the pool, good pizza, and the tacos station by the burgers (not as good as Carnival 's). Also, check out the movies upstairs at night. Same as TV but a bigger screen...the deli is open and you could try the late buffet (J)! Like if you were still there...LOL

This time last year we where just about to leave from Northern ireland for a week in Florida followed by a week on the carnival breeze visiting Amber cove, Grand turk, St Thomas and Puerto Rico. Then 2 more weeks in Florida it was our first cruise and it wont be our last xx

“Tuxedo vs Poop Stains on Fruit of the Loom” had me cackling out loud. That’s how we felt when we were on HAL Rotterdam!!

I'm surprised you didn't go to the sky bar on the port. It's a nice viewing area

Just an update on that beach. We were at amber cove last week and no taxis will take you there so we walked. Took about 30 minutes and it is not a clean area. Wasted day

I’m loving this series and ship! Seems like maybe an older crowd? Which I think we’d love. Do most ports have local transport (those bicycle carts) from the ship to the port area? My husband has a bad back, so if we can limit the walking, that helps him enjoy.

So taking a cruise is fun .. I’ve never been.. and my daughter wants me to travel with her to the Dominican Republic..

I bought my sunglasses from the same store and lady you did. Ha!

I will be in Amber Cove on November 30th, since I have been there many times before, I am not sure if I will get off the ship. However, I have never spent time at their pool so if I do anything maybe I would check that out. Or do what you were originally going to do and make it a spa day.

I love Amber Cove .. it’s so pretty . I like to get a taxi and explore Puerto Plata. I love mingling with locals and giving my money to local spots .

Ships dock in Puerto plata, I go to Punta Cana on the south end sand like silk, just like Riveria Maya like powder white...Don't do cruises only all inclusives...

Are the lettuce wrap burgers good? Even though the fries are carbs too they look good

I stayed at that hotel next to the port (port wasn’t there) in 2003 ... it was the RIU Bachata at the time .... the bay was untouched and beautiful.

I bought little bottles with a cork from Amazon and put the sand in each with a label.

Are you able to take a taxi to get there if you are docked at the other port in DR? Will be on NCL Escape in March 2023?

This is Carnival’s private port so you would be docked at the other port. Only Carnival Corp ship guests are allowed in here.

Next time try the carnival sunrise we had lots of fun and a lot less money

We are doing this cruise in October. Would you say this cruise line is still old people? It seems to me that it isn't that so much anymore?

Did you ever go to the MDR for dinner? I'm dying to know what you thought of the MDR offerings on HAL.

Nice video ! But no scenes in any Jurassic Park movie where filmed in the DR the amber mine in the movie that is supposed to be in the DR is actually Hoopii Falls in Kauai.

Did you guys try the pizza place? We are taking the ship to Europe in April. Hopefully the CDC gets off their but and approve cruising.

Stay in the port you can get a beer for $1.00 or $2.00 I know we have been there lots of times oh yes a bottle of pop $1:00 in port .
