The round chicken wrap you got from Ayoub is called Passtilla, it's a traditional morroccan meal for wedding and such occasions, normally it's way bigger and meant for a table of 5 people or more, it's absolutely amazing and I'd recommend you try it fresh outta the oven if you get the chance, there's also a fish one which is more salty/savoury, the cylindrical sweets are called cigars (very creative, I know), but it depends on the region as the dialects slightly differ from region to region. My recommendation is you try some tagine, couscous, rfissa/trid, also tanjia and mechwi whenever you make to Marrakech. Tangier is the home city of my mother and my fav city here in Morocco, glad you're enjoying your stay there. Happy traveling.

Moroccan Pastilla Pastilla, or bastilla, is a Moroccan pie, which looks dead impressive but is surprisingly easy to make. It doesn’t matter if it’s not that neat - we like rustic. We used pistachio nuts when we cooked this in Fez for our telly show, but the locals prefer almonds. The choice is yours. Moroccan Pastilla

We, the Moroccan people, are not Arabs from the Gulf in the continent of West Asia. We are of African Berber origins. We speak dialects that are not Arabic, including the original Berber dialects. We also speak a Moroccan dialect, which is a mixture of Berber, Arabic, French and Spanish dialects. This is because Arabic was imposed on us through the Arab Islamic religion, and we are not Arabs. We are Amazigh Africans.

Rabat - While hanging around in northern Morocco’s streets, you will likely come across small wood wagons pushed by sellers shouting, “Warm Kaliente, hot and delicious.” The scene is one of the ordinary life aspects in the kingdom’s north, where Kaliente, a popular dish made from chickpea flour, oil, and eggs, is sold by the slice on the streets or in the community bread ovens. The Moroccan street food, which sometimes enjoyed with a baguette and sprinkled with salt, paprika, cayenne pepper, and cumin, is always served hot. This explains the origin of the food’s name which is taken from the Spanish word “Caliente,” meaning “hot.” Many Names, a Single Origin? Historians have not been able to pinpoint the date of Kaliente’s appearance in Morocco, and so the origin of this dish is still much debated yet without a definite answer. “This smooth chickpea flour pie made its way to the city of Tangier during the international zone years,” said history researcher Khalid Tahtah. “Some Spanish books mentioned the dish, casually, and attributed its origin to Jews of Spanish and of Eastern Europe who lived in Tangier after the end of the Second World War.” “It is doubtless that they were facing a difficult financial situation which led them to sell this product to earn a stable income,” stated Tahtah.

From that point you can only see tarifa Spain but if you’d like to stare at Gibraltar then you’d have to drive to the east coast of tangier towards dalia beach 🏝️ Anyway enjoy Morocco Another things that custard you thought was custard is made with a lot of chick peas flour and lots of eggs it’s so delicious and source of protein
