Ladies and gentlemen.... The one and only DS. Headed by the virtuoso Mark Knopfler. Just an outstanding, top tier group of musicians. His solo work is incredible too. There's a reason why Knopfler is a living legend and goes down in history as a one of a kind. Writes it all, sings it, performance is on another level. He has a genius mind and it can't be understated. Top reaction. Thanks guys.

So, you're 1965. Like me. That year I have seen them live for the first time in Zagreb, then Yugoslavia, today's Croatia. I've been Dire Straits fan since 1980 when I heard Sultans of Swing for the first time on the radio. I didn't know the title, what the band was, it took me a few months to figure that out. I was hooked. I still am! Cheers!

Love Dire Straits. They are a great British rock band from the 70's-90's. Mark Knopfler is one of the best guitarists around. They have had so many hits including "Romeo & Juliet", "Private Investigations", "Twisting By The Pool", "Money For Nothing", "So Far Away", "Brothers In Arms" etc. They don't have a bad song.

Knopfler has a three-finger picking technique that he taught himself. Once you know his sound, it is very distinct. The first time I heard Clapton and friends, I didn't even know Mark was on the album, but could tell before he played 5 seconds. For subtle, beautiful rock guitar, he is simply the best ever.

The thing people don't know about Mark Knopfler is that he used to be a journalist working for an English tabloid newspaper. Who, when his boss came in asking him in a derogatory way to go write a story about this guitarist that died in Amsterdam (Jimi Hendrix of course,) literally told his boss the bad ass word "you can take this job and shove it." That day he decided to go pro in music. So he basically 'is' a writer, which is why you should always listen to the lyrics just as much as his guitar.

The birth, growth, surge, and decline of Detroit, all from the perspective of the highway. Some reactors who've never heard it before, you can see boredom towards the end of the tale, and they're thinking, good grief all the requests for this, the requestors must be a little off the mark. Then the bass and the remainder, then they can see why, and its lovely to watch Well done ❤

Yes 2 keyboard players. One one left of screen with 5 keyboards one which is piano is Alan Clark, probably one of the best in the world for rock music. So he has 5 keyboards to work so the second keyboard player is Tommy Mandel and he plays three keyboards to help take the load when Alan has his hands full especially with the piano.

The second keyboardist on the right was Tommy Mandel. I think he had a very diverse job. @@Orbitalmercury Similarly with me :-) Remastered disc from 2010. I love Telegraph Road very much. Behind the Iron Curtain until 1990, singers like Bob Dylan or Mark Knopfler were neither on radio nor television. On the radio, their melodies could sometimes be heard with Czech lyrics. For example, Walk of Life was sung by our singer Hanka Zagorova with different lyrics "Dobre rano" ("Good morning"). I could see DS on our TV first time in 1990. It was some beneficial concert with other singers, for example Annie Lennox sang there as well. I think DS played Walk of Life and Solid Rock there. I was very happy that we were also becoming a part of that world where such beautiful music is played 🙂

So what you saw was Mark using the backs of his fingernails to strike very loud, hard chords with the same sharp attack as one might get with a pick.

You know, silence is an absolute crucial part of expressive music and yet you felt it necessary to interrupt an expressive piano solo with how good the guitar solo was. What? Some reactions teams, I feel I can introduce to a Classical style, but some don’t really enjoy emotional style and don’t really appreciate that. If you are really open to a more emotional rabbit-hole then hit me up for some recommendations. If it’s not your thing, it’s fine, but I would expect a musically open reactor to mention the character of the piano solo. Willing to take you down the classical rabbit-hole, but also the ELO hole, which many have succumbed to.
