Our First Japanese Quail Nest of 2023 is Not in the Safe Nesting Area

We were going away on holiday just as my quail started sitting 8 eggs and so I panicked because they weren't in the usual quail safe place and moved the eggs to an ad hoc wired section within it. This didn't work but now we're back and the quail has started to lay again in the original nest, so fingers crossed. The Pharaoh male 'Bertie' was hatched here last year with one of my hens and the Golden Manchurian female 'Dory' was purchased from a local organic quail farm. Therefore, I was hoping they both would have natural nest-building and chick-raising instincts!
