Our FIRST DAY in Cebu City, Philippines was INSANE! 🇵🇭
On our first day back in Cebu City Philippines, we dive into the vibrant atmosphere by exploring the bustling Carbon Market. As we walk through the city streets, we couldn’t help but try some delicious food and drinks locals had to offer. Along the way, we engage in friendly conversations with all the welcoming people and it was indeed an amazing day filled with exploration, tasty food and good vibes.

The pink eggs are to distinguish them from regular eggs. The salted eggs are used as a side condiment or to top babingka to give the cake a sweet and salty taste. The eggs are very popular in the Philippines thats why you see salted egg yolk dishes or even salted egg yolk flavored chips.

Its actually a good deal. she did not mean 40 pesos per piece. there are really some locals that doesn't know how to properly deliver their English. Some just know very basic English. Fun fact: If you'll let cebuanos choose which language they're comfortable using between tagalog and english. Majority would choose English. As a matter of fact. In call center / BPO, cebu would like excel over manila. Not to brag but we're very good in English Command.
You should go to Carcar and try the Litson there. You shoul it eat there because it might get spoiled if you take it home or eat it after more than 4 hours. Philippine Pineapples and Ripe Mangoes are very good and sweet.
I enjoyed watching you both it seems that you have fun exploring your vacation in the Philippines. Hello!!!! How are you guys adapting and adjusting to new foods and travelers tummy issues? Any Tips?
@ChaseandShelbs
3 ай бұрын
To anyone who isn’t used to travelling we always suggest to avoid dirty looking food stalls, make sure the cooks hands are clean etc, be careful with ice in your drinks, fresh veggies and fruit are sometimes washed in tap water so that’s another one (if you at nervous eat freshly cooked hot food if you can)! Honestly food poisoning also happens to us sometimes, it’s the luck of the draw haha. But we never take any Imodium or anti Diarrhea meds because we find it’s best to just let it all come out and just ends up prolonging things TMI 😂 If you ever get bad food poisoning. Go to a pharmacy right away and get some antibiotics! (That is sure to fix you very quickly). Ps we’ve travelled Asia for over 2 years so our stomachs are pretty used to the food for the most part ☺️❤️
sorbetes icecream is basically made of coconut milk that's why it tastes a bit of coconut.
Shelbs, there are 2 kinds of bagoong, the shrimp paste and the ones made from fish (anchovies etc). In the north of Luzon there is "padas".

@DonRickyBaby

@@ChaseandShelbs it's usually traditionally prepared by soaking it in brine in huge clay jars for months until the fish itself is almost disintegrated. Some are buried in the ground. Now, there is a clear liquid on top of it. That's the clear fish sauce called "patis". The Romans are fond of it back in ancient times.

The cucumbers were not 40 per piece, it's 40 per kilo. When you are in a public market, when they say the price, it's always in kilo, not by piece. So when you buy one piece, they weight it and deduct the 40 to how much it weights. So it was actually pretty cheap.
@ChaseandShelbs
3 ай бұрын
Okay yes that totally makes sense, we thought 40 pesos for 1 cucumber was high! But luckily we were mistaken.

For coconut juices, have the unadulterated one, no sugar just pure juice. Sellers usually add "magic sugar" (aspartame, acesulfame K) which is carcinogenic. So, buy a whole coconut have it prepared and you can eat the meat too.
