    Poor ol' Sassyfras. Senior catizen riddled up with t' arthreetis and trying to enjoy his first Florida vacation in years when a bunch of smelly hooligans show up uninvited, walk wherever they please and wreck up the place. "GET OFF MY LAWN!"

    Well they have been functioning as an accredited body for quite some time and with a fair bit of money, actually they have should have known this would occur with an older, arthritic big Cat. They are very skilled and smart, they are also idiots sometimes and should spend less time filming and more time being less idiots.

    it's unfortunate that not enough people support this cause. The cat sanctuary I went to had their animals in small cages and although they were working on new projects they don't have a vacation spot like this. I know the owner really tries to make them as comfortable as possible but they don't have the money. Not only are these wild animals exploited but them having to live in captivity for the rest of there lives also supports factory farming. ( correct me if I'm wrong). Farm animals are exploited too.

    @@bananakitofinternetclan8350 At small local farms, yeah, they actually care for the animals. They take care of them because they want them to be healthy so they can reproduce and eventually be sold as meat. Larger commercial farms often sacrifice quality, both in the food and the animal's life for profit because the workers are not connected to the animals the same way people who live on a farm are and have no respect for the quality of the product.

    So much effort is put into making sure the cats are well and safe and sound. Its so amazing how you promptly decided to step in an intervene when seeing how chasing the birds would be a struggle for the elderly cat with worn down joints. Im sure sweet Sassyfrass will enjoy life as an old cat, without the struggle to survive, find food, and shelter and chase away vultures. Here there's caretakers, vets, calm and non stressing environment and it is so well deserved to be spoiled with some treats after a probably long life which hasn't been easy always.

    My aunt has a ranch in central Florida and she says those buzzards (her word for the vultures) a real pain. Poor Sassyfrass. I remember reading years ago about how rescue border collies being trained to chase geese away from airports and golf courses. As a suggestion, maybe look into that? It won't hurt the birds or the dogs (unless they're in the same enclosure as the big cats) and has been successful.

    venniey Thank you for your support!! We do not want to screen in the vacation enclosure because this is our way of giving the big cats the opportunity to look up and see clouds and sunshine instead of cage wire. This just indicates that it is best for our medium-small cats, that their vacation enclosures will have to remain with tops on them.

  • @venniey

    @venniey

    I thought of that. I used the wrong word, no screen but wire like the walk ways to the vacation area. The expense would be huge and you said there are fewer of those birds so it would be low on a list for expenditures.

    what about putting Large Bird sculptures at the top of cage level? (like how people use Owl figures to keep birds out of pools, off warves, etc?) or would the image of large birds of prey not work in the area?

    +Marit Other than Cheetahs and Lions most cats are ambush hunters, like your kitty cat at home. They wait in the bush until the prey makes the mistake of coming close and then all the power of the cat comes in one burst. But out in the open unless your fast like a cheetah or a pack of lions rounding up their prey, cats aren't good at that. But as ambush hunters they are extremely successful. Tigers are fast but those stripes tell you that they are ambush hunters.

    Great job caring for these wonderful animals! I wish government would pass new laws, people who stupidly buy these animals for pets should have to take responsibility for their actions and support them to the end of their lives. It's heart breaking to see these creatures lives ruined by idiotic humans.

    I love how big hearted y'all are. What a treat to see. Bummer about the vultures... an unexpected outcome. I am part Native American. I was born a mystic, as a result (self-taught; a city slicker, for the most part). I have always been telepathic with animals. I help out, whenever I can, as a volunteer, to find lost pets, sanctuary animals, or livestock; offer insight about their illnesses & treatment; psychological issues; provide hands-on or distance healing; messages from them on the Rainbow Bridge/Other Side. I wonder if you've considered utilizing a medicine person, shaman, or animal communicator? They could make an impact with the unwanted birds, and perhaps arrange a compromise. I wish I could help, but I'm way over in Tucson, Arizona. Best wishes. Thank you for your great channel.
