3. Promoting relaxation: The massage can help to induce a state of relaxation, which may help to improve sleep and overall well-being.
4. Reducing headaches: The massage may help to alleviate headaches and migraines by relaxing tense muscles and increasing circulation.
5. Improving hair health: The massage may help to improve the health of the hair by increasing blood flow to the scalp and promoting the absorption of nutrients.
6. Enhancing the sense of smell: The massage may help to enhance the sense of smell by stimulating the nerves in the nose and sinuses.
7. Improving sleep: The massage may help to improve sleep by promoting relaxation and reducing stress.
An Ayurvedic steam massage, also known as "swedana," is a traditional Indian therapy that involves sitting or lying in a closed wooden chamber filled with steam that is infused with herbs. It is believed to have a number of health benefits, including:
1. Relieving muscle pain and stiffness: The heat and moisture from the steam can help to relax tense muscles and reduce pain and stiffness.
2. Improving circulation: The heat from the steam can help to improve blood flow and circulation throughout the body.
3. Reducing stress and promoting relaxation: The warm, moist heat of the steam can help to relax the mind and body, reducing feelings of stress and promoting relaxation.
4. Improving respiratory function: The steam may help to loosen mucus and clear the airways, improving respiratory function and relieving symptoms of colds and allergies.
5. Detoxifying the body: The sweat produced during the steam massage is thought to help remove toxins from the body.
6. Improving skin health: The steam may help to open pores, improve circulation, and reduce dryness and flakiness, improving the overall health and appearance of the skin.
7. Enhancing the immune system: The steam and herbs used in the massage are thought to have immune-boosting properties, which may help to improve overall health and resistance to illness.

Hey Elise I love the wooden portable saunas where people have their heads popping out through the hole in the top and what makes the treatment even better if the person inside the sauna box has a white ring cushion around their neck covering the hole in the top. How did you feel about taking that treatment?

The name you were trying to pronounce is " Ayurveda " . It's literally means "Science of Life " . Veda means Knowledge. Ayurveda works on principle of Prevention is better than Cure. It doesn't suppress symptoms and targets root causes. It's very deep science and Yoga is one part of Ayurveda. India was the fountain head of the knowledge. Indians will prefer taking relevant kitchen herbs and spices first then rushing to doctor for common cough and cold, flue etc. Surf more for Ancient India on KZread.

@@parttimetravellingfamily It's more than 5000 year medical science of India. The difference between Ayurvedic medicines and Alopethic medicines is that Alopethic medicines majorly cures the symptoms, while Ayurvedic medicines works at the root cause. It is very detailed science which is based on the imbalances of the basic functions of how our body operates. And it works the balance those imbalances. Our body has to maintain the balance between Kapha, Pitta and Vatta, so Ayurved first focuses on finding where the imbalances are and then specific medicines are given to restore them.
