I am 65 and have moved from road running to trail running (which involves a lot of hiking which was my first love). One thing about trail events is that they are often "cup free" which means you have to carry your own. They will sell you one or you can bring an old juice box with the top cut off which folds down nicely and can then be tossed when you are done. If you have any influence, you might suggest this to the organizers of the local running events. Thanks for sharing your fun day!!

My husband passed away , I was miserable in Illinois, i went in my 37.5 RV at first , it’s hard by yourself! So I came here, and I bought before I went back to my lifestyle home. First day! I’ve never regretted for a moment. I love your excitement, and I see that you live in a Ruby! Was so different when I moved here, I got everything supplied fans, window shades everything,so different! Glad your enjoying! I hope you stay! It’s been a wonderful experience for me! You're right on, racing season starts in the fall and ends in the spring. This is because running in the summer sucks. So the Majors (7 global major marathons such as Berlin,Tokyo, London, Boston, NY) usually start in the fall. The biggies in the U.S. are usually Chicago and the MCM (D.C.) in October, NY in November, CIM is in December (a big Boston Qualifier race), LA is in February, Boston is on Patriot's Day in April, Flying Pig (Cincinnati) is in May, etc. There are summer marathons, but usually in cooler climes, like S.F., Colorado, etc.

Great job both of you and well done for finishing the 5k . I came across your videos by chance and subscribed and have been watching them all. I'm Irish but living in the UK no where near Florida 😊 but enjoying watching your videos and the lifestyle. I've taken a year off work to spend more quality time with my husband due to his health issues. I'm planning on taking early retirement so really enjoying how you do things in Florida. Just once, my Mom did the year long tree... Christmas, Valentines, Easter, Memorial Day/July 4th, NFL football. She wasn't real excited for the following Christmas, but she had changed out the light colors as well. And oh, how I remember sitting on the floor and helping her replace bulbs that had burned out. No surprise, when that Christmas tree came down, we all were relieved!

I think it's a brilliant idea for the Christmas tree! I always feel sad after my decorations come down, it feels so clean and empty when everything is put away. Look forward to seeing your Valentines tree!

Hey there!! Congrats on the finishing of the marathon!! Is that something that is held annually or more?

Congratulations on finishing. Let me know if you need a source for the finest vitamins/supplements/meal replacements in existence (I am not affiliated with the company, nor do I receive any compensation - just want you to have the best). Stay away from the hard pills (like they sell at Target, Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, Costco, etc.) such as Centrum, One A Day, etc., as they are mostly fillers, and the small amount of beneficial ingredients that are in there are not absorbed well. Let me know if you need any other nutrition/fitness advice as well.

Haha. I have three cats and one of them crawls up the center of the artificial tree and her head pops out halfway up. 😂I have some great pictures.

seems like a simple idea would be to put a few trash cans near the water stations. glad you had fun and are staying active.

Take a picture of the tree in January and then another in December (or before they decorate it for Christmas) as a memory of how much fun they had throughout the year.

Congratulations 👏🏻 Totally agree with you about “doing stuff together” … my wife & I play the Jubilee putting course, play “Mexican Train” dominoes at Ezell rec center, etc. But we also do things separately … she does Cardio Drumming (great fun, but popular/crowded), does “Walk off the Pounds” (an aerobics class) AND walks pretty much every day with the Newell walking group (a 5K around the retention ponds near Franklin rec center). Me? … I play golf … EVERY day at MickeyLee pitch n putt ⛳️🏌️‍♂️and occasionally a championship course. Great summary of “Running the Squares”. Our next door neighbor also did it. Keep up the good work 👍🏻
