The title says "To Do List" but it is really just our "MUST DO List" there are about 100 other things on our to do list but as any cruiser knows it is all about prioritizing to get off the dock. If you wait until EVERYTHING is done on your To Do List you will never leave. Also, we kept this video a little more Raw with no music at all, longer clips, and less cuts. What do you think? Would you have preferred some music in there?

Hopefully you guys got through this project without getting on each other's nerves too bad. Not easy to do, working side by side 24/7. What you guys have together is something special that not many couples have. Cling to that like it's a life raft in shark invested water. I hope you're enjoying the fruits of all your hard labor right now. Give Jetty a big hug too. She sacrificed as much as you two did, I'm sure. God bless and best wishes.

Too funny! I love the communication between you two about who gets to cross what off the "To Do list". Doing that is so gratifying. (When you think about it, it might be enough to harm a relationship between two people if one of the partners was too greedy about crossing off too many items..

You are completely right about AIS. For me AIS is like a social network - give and get. Long time ago I went with friends sailing boat around England. We often had encounters with big ships. They all obeyed us and mad little adjustments to their course for us.

Sure is so many items to test, repair, replace, in-order to get your Trawler looks ship shape and ready to get under-way. Your skills now, could possibly land you a job in the ship repair / tech. support field, if ever needed, as a last resort for income. Was noticing, (what looked like), at least three GPS receiver connection points on your main deck unit, (that would be a luxury addition to obtain better / more reliable GPS location info.). Congratulations to you both! Wow is an under rated expression, for the amount of work and dedication put to this endeavor.

Amazing transformation on your trawler. I live in Sacramento and have done a lot of boating in the delta and SF bay. Not much out in the open ocean. I hope before you guys head north you will take it out into some rough seas just to make sure nothing is going to shake loose or cause a serious issue that could strand or possibly sink you. A good sea trial in the open ocean before your journey. I'd hate to see something happen to you wonderful people. Anyway you guys are inspirational and I'm envious of your lifestyle. You two our living the dream most of us are too afraid to try. Cheers, happy sailing and safe travels.

Okay I was impressed with all the knowledge of running the diesel engines. The electronics is a whole nother ball game. I'm way impressed. The battery conversion, the inverter, installing the AIS, just taking out the old electronics is a major accomplishment, refurbishing the kitchen, the master stateroom, the forward State room are all impressive accomplishments as well. Let's not even begin to discuss all the exterior work the two of you have done. Super impressive, not your run of the mill boat refurbishing projects. I imagine just the materials alone are in the tens of thousands of dollars. I'm very anxious to see a final tally of all the costs involved in the improvements. After that I I am anxious to see the number of man hours you both dedicated to this project. If possible try to add a dollar figure for your time. That has always been my downfall when trying to determine whether doing the project myself is worthwhile whether it is home renovation or boat upkeep/renovation. In the end you guys are doing fabulous work, far above any pay grade you may assign yourself.

Lots of comments from new subscribers that are surprised and impressed with Billy’s technical knowledge and mechanical skill. If you think this episode is impressive go back in the Tula archives to a much earlier episode when Billy overhauled his old Diesel engine in his cockpit while on the hook-solo. That hooked me on their adventure. Who would ever dismount their diesel auxiliary lift it into the cockpit onto 2x4’s and then tear it down are rebuild it before dropping it back into place. Yup, that’s our Billy. Sierra, what episode was that?

I’ve watched a lot of HVAC technicians, troubleshoot, simple systems that they didn’t know anything about and they often use a jumper until the function they are trying to fix works. Even if it wrecks another function. The stories I could tell. You always have to check for smoke and heat. Anytime you start up something that’s been newly worked be prepared to shut it back down.

Your dog reminds me of our dog Sam. Sam's no longer around but a great memeory to see your oup has the same personality. Attentative and sensitive. I called my Sam, Sticky, bc he stuck with me no matter what project we did, building a feck for the cottage, sitting me with me on our boat and he hated alarm noises too.

If a window gets blown out on the trip north the dash location might not be a good spot for equipment with emergency communications capabilities. Pac Cup we also had a plan/system for covering blown out windows if that were to happen. Just thinking about your trip north. Doing the I-5 route at 55mph is a popular choice even with commercial boats use to rough water. Just saying 👍

On your last video I saw you steering from upper helm. It did not look comfy. My solution is a wired or remote control for the auto helm. I once had a simrad wired remote that was fantastic. In addition to the regular features it had a steering only mode where the rotary knob in your hand was basically like holding the tiller in your hand. Each click on the knob was one degree of rudder. It had a rudder angle readout, and you could easily steer in rough waves with this set up. It was like sitting anywhere you want and having tiller in your hand

1.7K+ desktop shipmate LIKE, 10K+ views already. Y'aller popular on KZread. FWIW: fine without music, if that makes editing much more simple. One advantage for us watchers/listeners is: using the cogwheel speed settings, the replay can be watched in much less time: you speak clearly, so it's easy to do a replay at 1.5 or even 1.75. Doing that with music in the mix isn't as pleasant.

Cuts when necessary to reduce viewing repetitive tasks, Timelapse and maybe using a clock face spinning to indicate long repetitive projects better . Music doesn’t really add much to boat projects . Overall have really enjoyed the boat work series and look forward to seeing you use the boat solve new problems, and work out the the inevitable glitches .

Lucky girl got yourself a real man confident, tackles all things with logic and can do attitude and takes pride in doing it right instead of some jerk off with to many tattoos wearing shirts to small with his chest puffed out and doesn’t know what end of a hammer to hold onto

I love your guys show , i just wanted to say i think you should go with a galvanized shackle as the stainless shackle will be your weakest point i would be guessing 2k lbs. versus 10lbs. keep up the work it looks great....hope to see you out there someday,,, carlos fat cat naples
