Farm life is our dream life.
Today we are at our farm to put some markers on the boundaries of our land. We are accompanied by our friends and the previous owner of the land. We are so glad because we have a durian tree and a spring water in our land. After a while, we put all the markers on our boundaries. We can finally plant our fruit trees that we have for two years now. After lunch we headed to the farm to plant the trees. We got tired of walking so we decided to take some coconuts. Then we proceeded to plant our trees. Good thing we had this driller that we bought from the internet. It will make our work a little bit faster and easier. The next day we went back to the fam to plant the remaining trees that we didn't plat yesterday. We got Ate Rhea's children to help us. With their help, planting will become a little bit faster. It's lunch time and before we head home, the children took some coconuts for us to eat and drink. I got to play with their baby goats. This is indeed our dream life. Surrounded by nature and animals. The next day, we cleaned our yard. We are hoping to save some small tree trunks to use for building. Boris and I got to work. The past few days had been exausting but we are happier in this place.

I am a landowner in Bicol and I know the intricacies of having a farm and dealing with tenants, fellow landowners and government people. I can feel your excitement but there could be some frustrations too. Here are some things that you may need to tackle if you haven’t done so: 1. Legal ownership. Did the seller give you the copy of the title? Is it clean and free of any encumbrance? Did you execute a deed of sale in front of a lawyer and have it notarized? If all of the above are true, then have the title to the property transferred to your name by going to the Register of Deeds. If not, check the ownership and encumbrances of the property in that same office. Remember that if there are defects in the sale and title of the property, the true owner can evict you as squatters. Assuming that it’s a clean title, have your sale registered at the Register of Deeds right away so that it cannot be sold to another person. Subsequent sale of the same property has been happening in the Philippines. 2. To be sure of the boundaries and lines around the property, have a geodetic relocation survey to officially and specifically mark your perimeter. There are many land grabbing incidents and by the time you realize it, you will be quarreling with your ‘linderos’. You may spend 10-30k pesos for the relocation survey but it’s worth it. Then you can think about fencing your lot. 3. Tax. As they say, like death, tax is sure. Pay it early to avoid penalties. Good luck and happy living in the Philippines.

Wow! Thank you, sir! We learned a lot today. Wonderful and great legal advice. We hope this is not only a "position of entitlement" and all is well with the "deed of sale" and no political clout will be involved. The Philippines is a corrupt nation when it comes to land grabbing led by high-ranking politicians.

I hope they're reading comments and doing what's best for them. I don't want to see them cheated and cried on their future videos. I hope they'll both have good island life in the land that they purchased. I learned a lot from you sir. GOD bless you 🙏

Having your home located right along the road is good. What you need to install are CCTVs around the perimeter and build a fence or any type of barrier with a gate for your future children's security. Lots of prospects in your property, just need patience and hard work which you already have. Great job! About the machete, invest in one where the metal (carbon steel) used for the blade extends and forge to a handle itself and is attached to a good hardwood handle with rivets, it would be a little heavier but you will never lose the handle. Find a good blacksmith who can customize your machete that will last a lifetime.

So so exciting to see you guys planting native fruit trees! Love that you are using an auger! This tool (auger) helped me loads when I planted native fruit trees in my mother’’s land I seem to recall that digging a hole twice the size of the plants I planted for root circulation and seemed to work- i.e. the plants are alive and healthy after 3 years! 😂😅😊 Cannot wait to see how your fruit trees will look ! So proud of you two! And your alocascias (elephant ears) is quintessential of the tropics! ❤❤❤ loving all the greenery around! Cheers 🎉

I just started watching you guys and find you a delightful couple! First year will be a real learning experience, but so much fun. I homesteaded a forlorn property back in the 70's with my hubby. If you can afford to hire a little help to pick the coconuts and get them to market, that would be money earned immediately. I'm thinking as rough as the place and your lil house is, hiring a bit of help would make it all comfortable a lot quicker. Otherwise it might take you a whole year to get it so. I can envision Darlene starting up a huge garden , planting all those veggies you are now buying. Boris will have to learn all the 'tool repair' tricks the locals use as handles used a lot are always breaking...lol. I just bet some of those friendly neighbors will help you get started with some cuttings or seeds! Best wishes from USA.

That was funny when you say "lumaki po ako sa farm" katulad ni mayor Alice Guo. For the grass/weeds, there's a cordless weed wacker run by gas. The Auger drill borer you have is nice. It makes it faster to plant and will help in building too. It would help to build a shed to store your tools and locked them. The tree with lots of fruits on the trunk is called Jabuticaba which has health benefits when used as jam or tea. You can google it or ask Rhea. Someday you might add circular saw or compact circular saw and chain saw to help you cut trees etc. These will also help you in building/repairing your home too.Cheers!

You need to get a geodetic engineer to exactly know the boundaries. The title is needed by the geodetic engineer for the survey. These people with you now may be able to guide you but it is best to have it surveyed.

Calamansi can be planted near your house because plantinh distance is min 3x3..snd it is a sun loving plant. Mango will grow into a big tree. Planting distance is 8x8 to 10. You can intercropped shade loving trees. Because if you dont plan your orchard and just plant whenever. It wont be nice.

You can also cut the thin bamboo trees and use the stalks as straws for your coconut juice. And to fix the machete. Drill 2 holes on the metal part of the handle. Then put nut and bolt through wood handle to the metal part.

There’s a lot of potential. Enjoy your place and watch out for the serpents( bad people) and the real snakes 😊

You should clean up your farm before planting your trees . There’s a lot of dried leaves and it so easy to get burned up if there’s a fire. Lightning can easy cause fire especially you have tall grasses and trees . You can hire people to clean up for the first time so you won’t get tired so much. Life in the farm is really fulfilling, especially if you really know how to utilize every inch of your land. Planting different fruit trees is really good after 5 to 7 years you can harvest your own fruits. You twos should wear gloves to clean up and ate wear boots to protect your feet. Love you guys.

Kukuska / alemomogon?/ cuckoo in Finnish language is Käki. There is superstition whwn it makes it sound you just count how many years is for the matter you are thinking... Hopefully it makes it very short for your dream to come true... By the way, you should grow malunggays and lemongrass in your yard and farm. Malunggay/ moringa is the MOST healthy part in your meals or as dried for a nice tea! VERY easy and FAST to get it grow! You just cut it for about 0,7-1m high stick without any branches or leaves. Put it to the soil, about 30cm deep into ground, just water the soil and see how it grows these superhealthy leaves, for your soup and other meals! 😋🥰

Just a suggestion, hope you won't get offended, if neighbors are being nice and giving you fruit, vegetables or the likes, you can reciprocate by giving them the same instead of money....also when planting trees, it's best to dig twice as deep and twice as wide as the pot or the root ball and always put good top soil with some compost before you plant, plus some microboost on top before watering, it will give the roots a good boost and higher chances of surviving 😉

I doubt the percentage of survival of your fruit trees. Its good that you have auger machine, but when you make holes for your fruit trees. Make holes deep and wide as 1 ruler, then put back the top soil, add some fertilizer like 14-14-14 or with a mixture of dried animal manure. Then youll see your fruit trees recover easily and gives a good growth.

CONGRATULATIONS Boris and Darlene. You are lucky to have bought a land! I don't have 😢. Slowly, you can clear the area. Plant several fruit-bearing trees and for wood like Narra and Mahogany. Please read the comment by @theprovincialvet above. Make sure you got all the pointers.

That plenty small green round thing in the trees is called TiBIG my brother used to make them as wheels for a toy car when they were little boys. Can also cooked with catfish. You can peel off the skin of the tree , shred or grind it and take the juice to cook it with the catfish like cassava leaves. This kind of tree called TIBIG usually grows near the spring water or busay.

Kc at this time it's not adviceable na kayo ang maglinis bawasan muna ng konti ng ibang maglilinis .
