Spencer, the last year of my life has been very difficult, there are days when I could hardly get out of bed. I connected with your grandfather and through his movies he got me through my days. I have sat here and laughed and forgot my troubles. What a talented, wonderful, gentle soul he was. Thank you for this tour of his home, I truly enjoyed it.

Charlie Chaplin has helped me through feeling lonely and down. My disk drive is broken on my laptop, so I'm unable to watch my Charlie chaplin dvds. So was actually looking on here to watch something of Charlie chaplins. I ended up watching this and was amazed! I love your grandad in Limelight. 💖

Claire, if I may butt in. I’m mobility challenged. I survived a suicide attempt at Terry Ambrose’s age. I became a carer and thought that if the person I cared for left me I would attempt suicide again, but instead my life and career flourished. To say I relate to Limelight is an understatement-it restored my will to live, which was tenuous at best. I am pleased that it had a positive effect on your mental health as well. Keep fighting!

You’re not alone. Charlie Chaplin came into my life, and suddenly, I found myself smiling again, even in the darkest moments. It's remarkable how his presence, through his music, shorts, and even his audio-biography, fills my days with warmth and inspiration. Charlie Chaplin is more than just an icon; he's a true miracle, a beacon of hope that continues to shine brightly in my life.
I want to say because of Charlie I was the black sheep growing up in the 80s. On Friday nights Disney Channel played silent films and I would laugh and forget the times I was bullied at school. Your family has helped so many find their smile....
One of the most amazing n beautiful people on earth was Charlie Chaplin ❤️🩹🌺🙋♀️
Absolutely lovely. What a legacy your Grandfather has left behind. Charlie Chaplin belonged to the world and we are better for it.
Love Chaplin, for his humour and humanity. Great to see his family looking after his legacy. Hope to visit this museum someday ...All the best.
I used to refer to Charlie as my friend as a kid... And to be honest, I still do.❤

Beautiful words
Thank you for showing us this. I have great respect for your grandpa Charlie. I thought he's extra ordinary human being. It will be nice to know more of Charlie Chaplin's story 🙏
I really love Charplin for his creativity. He was an all-round person and put a lot of work in his craft. His films inspires me. I keep watching them every now and then -- never gets old. Thanks a lot for this tour. ❤
This is beautiful. You are like two ghosts walking through the house. So moving. You are both so alive and it seems like it’s the house that’s died. No one else will know the life you had there. Beautiful. Thank you for this.
Thank you for sharing your home! ❤. An amazing man. USA treated him wrong.
Yr Grandfather was an Amazing Man, which We All were Very Lucky To Have In Our Lives. Without Charlie Chapman we would Not Have The Laughter and Delight We Have. It is Awesome that u are showing Charlie Chapman’s Home. Thank u so much and I look forward to seeing more. God Bless u.

Well said
Thank you for the tour. It’s June 15th 2024. My mother passed in 2018, she was born in 1933 and she loved reading biographies. I was going through her things that I packed away and found the book written by Charlie Jr. Fascinating. I followed up by reading everything I could about your grandfather. His autobiography, Lita Grey’s book, Charlie Chaplin vs America, Trio (which you know is more about your mother) and anything that I could find about him. My mother’s brother was born in the 20’s, and was also a big fan. Remember seeing pictures and things that he used to mimic of the little Tramp. Loved the tour and hope to go myself in the near future. Your comment on Charlie being a complicated man was a kind way to speak about him. Times were so different back then I know, I have a hard time criticizing his behavior, he was a true genius. What is common with geniuses is typically altered social behavior. Yes, he had his faults and he did do things that could be considered unconscionable, but the impact he made on the silver screen changed theatre forever. Could you override that and just label him something nasty? I think not. As a woman, who had my own experiences of men behaving badly, I still can’t think of Charlie Chaplin as anything but a once in a lifetime historical enigma. His history growing up and his relationship with his mother I’m sure solidified a love hate relationship. 100 years later I’m watching his silent films and I’m mesmerized by the drama and feelings they emote. I’ve subscribed to your channel and look forward to seeing more of your content. Thank you again for the tour and a chance to enjoy your father’s memories of life in Vevy.
Absolutely fascinating! I studied Chaplin and his films back in the mid 80s and fell in love with him then. Can't wait to see the rest of the house. Thank you!
I still think Charlie Chaplin funny as hell, never gets old watching his silent comady and films to this day, museum tour by his son and grandson put a 😀 on my face.
It's nice to see the descendants of the great genius.

Thank you for making this video! There’s a melancholy subtext and a little bitter-sweet as your dad recalls his time with his father. But the magic in that house exemplifies your grandfather’s uniqueness and brilliant work. Hope to travel there soon!
This video was a amazing finding! So lovely, and I can feel no only the history, but also admire even more this great filmmaker by the caring and kindness of his family. Thank you Spencer and Eugene for the opportunity of seeing this. Now I am looking forward to go to Switzerland

So am I.
I visited this mansion almost a year ago in June 2020 for the first time (I also made a KZread video about it). I was highly impressed to see the house, park and the village around it with my own eyes and I am still thankful that I got the opportunity. Living there as a family was surely a blessing. Though it must also surely feel odd to know that your (or your father's) old home turned into a museum ;)

Really nice, Spencer. I saw you and Keira on Joolz Tours of London show on your grandfather, then came here. I thought you and Keira so sweet and so down to earth. I used to live in Switzerland. Thank you.

Thank you very much for this wonderful tour! Since I am caring for my elderly mother, I am unable to travel, so I really appreciate this virtual tour. The family anecdotes made this very heartwarming! Thank you!
Me encantan sus películas desde que tengo 11 actualmente tengo 15 y aun me encanta todo sobre Chaplin
A Life, ⭐️ Very well lived ⭐️
Loved Chaplin growing up,.....I first saw him on TV in the late 60's at age 4 (Boston,Mass)...they had Saturday night silents on our local channel,....I believe my generation (born/1960's-early-70's) will be the last to remember Chaplin,....GenZ's could care less,....it's been awhile since I watched Chaplin, I catch a few CC/flicks here on KZread.
The fact that Charlie Chaplin was born in 1889, 132-years-ago, and his youngest child is only 59-years-old is kind of mind-boggling.
Oh how I loved this episode tonight, though I’ve loved all your posts before that I have seen. Can’t stop sniffling! So overwhelmed viewing these lovely programs! Love you all so much!! Thank you!! ❤️🙌💐
This was so beautiful to see. I just finished reading Charlie’s autobiography and am looking for more on his life. I’m going to read his son’s biography next.

Well written. He was a genius and learned so much on his own, similar to another genius who came from your country: Rudolf Nureyev. I’d love to visit both museums. That’s on my bucket list. His wife Oona was an absolute incredible person as well, to have had and raised eight magnificent children and done so much for her beloved husband and family. I’ll be reading her biography as well.

Dearest Chaplin Talks, much greatness here. Thank you for giving us "Charlie's" Museum, his humor, sadness and genius lives within us. Wish my Momma (RIP Helen, 2015) was here with us now so she could see this. Momma would crack up, you could hear her through her door, thinking to myself "She's watching one of Chaplin's movies!" Thank you so much for showing us this lovely home. We have a vast collection of British comedian Sid Field. I know Sir Charlie Chaplin was a huge admirer of Sid's and invited him to his parties. Would you know of there were any photographs of Sir Charles and Sid together? We have searched high and low but have not been successful.
I noticed all the children oona had from Charlie when they were young looked so much liked her even engine Charlie's son who's now a grandfather looks so much like his mother oona,
