Biblically the man is the head of the house. But with the cost of living and other issues the woman now help with some bills . But it's wise to to contribute because if the marriage does not work you don't leave the marriage without anything.

But what would be the case in the event that both of you work very good paying jobs and subsequently the man loses his job for whatever reason. Who will be responsible for the home bills whilst the man has secured another job?

The man will still be responsible for the home bills till he secures another job, hence they are taught to acquire assets which come in handy in times like those.

I think 50/50 is ok...especially paying the bills or even buying a house...two hands can do more ...instead of letting one person with a big load
