Our day of Tunnels, Waterfalls and Dancing Bar Tenders in ISAFJORDUR on Island Princess - DAY 7 VLOG
On day 7 of our Island Princess Iceland and Greenland cruise we visited the town of Ísafjörður. This was the second time we visited and there were some big changes in port. The first time we visited was during our Enchanted Princess Norway and Iceland Cruise and you can find the VLOG link below. We had an early start as we had an excursion booked to visit the Dynjandi Waterfall and Family Farm. In Isafjordur we visited some of the key tourist attractions and look at what the town has to offer. Back on Island Princess we get to see a new ship up close and personal. We dined in the Bordeaux Restaurant and were treated to an extra dish. The second production show, Do You Want to Dance, was in the main theatre and we were a little bit disappointed. We ended our evening the Explorers lounge sampling the menus and listening to the Orchestra performing their own evening show.

Island Princess is part of Princess Cruises' fleet and was launched in 2003. It belongs to the Coral-class of ships and has been a popular choice for travellers seeking a cruise experience with a balance of comfort and luxury. Princess Cruises, in general, is known for offering a range of amenities and services to make passengers' experiences enjoyable. The ship offers various entertainment options, including live performances, musicals, and themed events. Island Princess provides a variety of cabins and suites to cater to different preferences and budgets.
We are Tom and Dom and we experienced our first cruise on the MSC Virtuosa during her UK staycation cruises in 2021. We are relatively new to cruising, however we can now say we are officially hooked.
Our mission is provide a fair and balanced review of our travels. We look at the types of food that is available onboard, from main dining rooms, room service, buffets and pool side snacks. We include menus for each of cruises so that we can share the selection of drinks and meals that are available. Entertainment onboard a cruise ship is important to us and we enjoy theatre production shows, live music, quizzes and game shows. We love to explore different ports and destinations and enjoy sharing tips and tricks so that you can make the most of each port. We often explore ports independently but also book excursions that are interesting to us.

Thank you for pointing the camera at the ground during your waterfall visit. I need to see the actual surface, to know whether to bring just a cane, or if I need two trekking poles. I have a bad knee but otherwise fit and totally capable of hiking if I know which equipment to bring!

Thankfully, both of my visits to the town were on much smaller ships and no one else was in port each time. Having several large ships does tend to overwhelm small settlements like these. I enjoyed both visits tremendously. But oh dear…… I am putting on weight just sitting in my chair viewing your daily food and alcohol intake. How can you eat so much at that hour of the night without indigestion. I guess it’s your youth compared with my elderly years that makes the difference. I am looking forward to your vlogs on Greenland, I loved my cruise there this summer when we had incredible weather and didn’t share the scenery with any other ships. Even the promised midges kept their distance.

Beautiful waterfall - reminds me of one in Norway. Looking forward to your video on Reykjavik. We stayed there for three nights in 2022 before our own trip to Greenland.

A very nice episode. Island Princess looks very nice and accommodating despite the age of the ship. Sorry to hear your NYE accommodations were not as hoped (just speaking about it you could see the frustrations on your faces) during the recent live event. Is a Viking Cruise on your Bucket List? It is expensive but I constantly look for special sales (the only way I can afford it). @ 3:11 - I have been a touring motorcyclist for years and when you wear full riding gear getting ‘caught short’ is a possibility. In addition, if you are at a large stadium event, the walk to the bathroom can feel like miles away. I can attest the ‘Stadium Pal’ product is an excellent option for those who hike long distances in groups far away from facilities. There is a version that upon use instantly gels the content for disposal later. It is extremely discreet.

Thanks so much for these lovely videos! We're sailing on Island Princess in August and this is such a helpful series. Question - did y'all come across any bars/venues that serve Redbreast 12? I know some ships in the fleet have this delicious Irish whiskey.
