OUR CRAZIEST DAY IN AFGHANISTAN (Hindukush Mountains are stunning!)

In this Afghanistan travel vlog, we travelled from Kabul to Kunduz by bus and got stuck in the Panjshir Valley of the Hindukush Mountains. We later moved further out from Kunduz to Dushanbe, Tajikistan on our way back home to India.

The scenic views are amazing and breathtaking. This is a truly adventurous bus ride. Your vlogs also made me realize that Afghanistan and people hospitality not hostile as shown in the media. The Officials from the government truly caring about the foreigners. Your vlogs changed my perception on Afghanistan and its peoples' hospitality. It may get initially overwhelming, but we get used to as we spend more time. I thoroughly enjoyed the video.

This seems to have been the most adventurous journey. I only wish you were not unwell (it's amazing how you did this daunting travel even though you were unwell) What scenery of the Hindukush mountains... wish we saw more of it The hospitality sounds too good to be true... I'm so glad you both received the best of the best of Afgan hospitality

I very much enjoyed this last part of your Afghanistan Odyssey. Congrats on how well you coped - in adversity! - with this last stage of your travel. Your hairy bus journey through the Hindu Kush reminded me of some similar experiences I've had in the Atlas Mountains and in Northern Pakistan. All credit to you that you were able to get such stunning views at a time when you were both feeling pretty rotten. I've no idea what you both do in Bangalore, but your presentational style is so engaging that I wouldn't be surprised if you have a role in the media. (If not, perhaps you should!) You both have clearly warm memories of the Afghan people. I'm sure this will have been reciprocated by the people you met. You're exactly the sort of people who should be travelling and experiencing different cultures. This can't be said of all vlogers!

So glad to hear that Ron! We're truly grateful to have travelled and lived though all these countries in the last two years... and nice to know that it rekindled your memories from the mountains too! 😃 We're far from the media industry - we used to be auditors and sat at desks looking at numbers all day long 😛😅

Thanks for your reply. D'you intend doing more travelling at this point, or are you now returning to your desk jobs? A couple of questions about making travelling in Afghanistan possibly a bit easier occur to me. In your experience what are the pros and cons of hiring local guides? And a related question - are there drivers prepared to take you from place to place (not just to a single destination) who might even be hired for a few days? I'm thinking back to my travels in India where we were able to employ drivers on this basis.@@TheBackpacksters

Covering your first question in our upcoming Q&A video, Ron! About Afghanistan, it is possible to hire guides to walk around with and also to drive around with. Many taxi drivers are willing to drive you around for a fair price (although you may need to bargain) for as long as you'd need. Hiring a guide is an advantage - they speak the language, know the history better and can help you find everything you need. The main con is the cost - we could not accommodate that in our budget 😅

Glad to see my comment has hit the target i had aimed to but didn't knew how to express my point thank you for helping me understand the word bond or bonding this was my comment's point that the way you both have bond to each other and has made path and some how living each others view or life and to have the acceptance and understanding is the beauty I enjoyed in INDIA and even in your lovely vlogs in AFGHANISTAN hope that feelings one day will come instead of rules and the love I have experienced in INDIA needs to be shared and expand so to be known to all and this will be accomplished only with help of a little humanity and peace and understanding of people like you guys so be blessed and what you are doing is the dream for people like me enjoyed every moment you shared here and even more excited when saw the reply thank you. Humme acha hone k liye muje lagta hai k ek dosre ki spice ki bahut zarorat hai mere desh ko toda indian spice ki zarorat hai aur tumhare desh ko toda afghani spice ya tadka lagna zarori hai. lol jai ho. @@TheBackpacksters
