Our business (Laki Laki) goes beyond just profits by creating all round impact.

Ойын-сауық

Top of the morning! darn! It is slightly more than a month until 2022. By the way, do you still pen down your new year's resolution(s)? Like hitting that gym.. btw, January does not have any special fitness/fatloss properties. ha ha..start now!! For those who have achieved their goals, well in! As for me I choose not to cry over spilt milk.. by this time tomorrow .. tomorrow being 2022, it will be yoghurt! even better. Talking of yoghurt, are you that person who chooses to have some in private, darn, the amount left on the sides is almost a quarter of all the yummy stuff.. as for me and my house, yoghurt is to be consumed in private! you got to scrape all that off!
Imagine having to dig deep into the cup and getting some real fruit? Meet Joost, the social entrepreneur who sees beyond profit, and is building Laki Laki, a yoghurt business that seeks to create impact.all round . Watch to find out how.

Never hear about Laki Laki before. It's great that you are helping out my brothers and sisters here in Kenya. Very much appreciated. We need more projects like that instead it seems that most are only looking to enrich themselves and forget about the community. I and my German husband are trying to help for the last 10 years, but with much less success then you. Keep it up and congratulations for such a successful project.

If the govt was smart. They should offer five year visas that comes with a work permit attached automatically to the Visa for citizens of european, US, Canada and Britain this way no need to go through the cumbersome immigration process in Kenya. Why i say this is many foreign citizens see opportunities in Kenya to do business but the process is too problematic. Many come via Ngo's, tourists or visit family members already in Kenya and see many opportunites and stay to open up a business. Kenya benefits from jobs are created, skills transfer and many have their own sources of capital from where they come from. I can mention 3 companies started by foreign born citizens who happened to be in Kenya via Ngo' s, tourists and started multibillion companies that combined have created thousands of jobs, improved Kenyan lives. Their companies have attracted at at least 500m dollars in investment. Now think of how many such investments if we just made it easier for foreign citizens to travel and work in Kenya.

I don't agree. Don't let foreigners come and setup companies and destroy the chances for local talents to build businesses. That's how you end up like South Africa where all the "foreigners" own everything and the natives live in slums.

@@jzk2020 South Africa is different situation. SA came from a different place of apartheid so those remnants still exist. There are many foreigners who have established businesses in Kenya and are sensitive to the local situation. Things are different in Kenya which have no comparison to south Africa. Stsrtups in Kenya started by foreigners just to name a few are twiga foods, Sanergy, Mkopa, mobius, opibus , voctory farms, these companies are employing hundreds of Kenyans and transforning lives and attracting massive investments. The new crop of investors do not have the baggage of apartheid in their minds they see an opportunity and a gap that can be filled and are actually wanting to improve lives and yes make money at the same time as no business can exist without making a profit. But they invest millions of dollars to start these companies that not many locals have or willing to venture into these businesses because of the high risk involved. Our local investors want surety like realestate. But business is a risk and we need more of them willing to risk their money. Thats how USA grew by the sheer bravety of their immigrants who came from all corners of the world and built businesses. We can not live in fear.

We don't need these whites to colonize us again in the guise of invest. We shall overcome on our own since we have soo much talent here and ideas. The process should be hard to give the local talent strength. We hujui chenye unasema. Go to India and see how local empowerment is done. Tf is wrong with us Africans treating these white people as God's 🙄🙄
