It was one of our best digs as far as quantity....over 400 bottles for sure (although a bunch of slicks). We sure appreciate ya watching and commenting...have a wonderful weekend my friend! 😀

Hi Georgia...always so nice to hear from you. We had more fun than a couple monkeys in a henhouse. The bottles just kept coming! Our battery went dead on us ,but not before we got most of it recorded...only missed a few things I think? Thanks so much for watching...🙂

Holy.... Thank god for that backhoe, those bottles would of been lost forever.. Cant imagine a single person digging 10' or better to get to those deep veins.. Yea, I think we might have given up on that spot without the backhoe. It sure makes it a lot easier dont it..haha. We'll have to get Paul to play us some tunes....wish you could come hang out with us on one of his gigs...that would be fun. You are always welcome if you ever get into our neck of the woods..😀

Oh wow again DAVE & PAUL what a great part one dig and on the bottom of the dump finding fantastic bottles and jugs wow love the white broken beer glass and i would say that would be my favourite but then nr on everything would be a favourite like your ink jars well done on a great dig both of you and casey (580) looking forward now to part 2 dig..all the best to you both from chris in the UK...

I wondered if there were so many broken bottles in this end of the dump because it’s so deep. You think about 100+ years of them sitting on the bottom of this dump with ALL that weight of the dirt and bricks sitting on them. I could see why they’d break. It’s so amazing to watch everything come out… the sheer number of ink bottles 😳😳😳, and other teeny bottles, meds, perfume bottles and teeny vials. It’s so fun. Both you and Paul have great eyesight, for seeing bottles anyway. Lol. You see a tiny edge and you know just what kind of bottle it is. So cool.

That bottle with the bottom out would make a great lamp.

Oh yea, I never thought of that....you are right. Sadly it had no embossing so probably wouldnt be very appealing. I've got a bunch of projects that I hope to do "one of these days"....but that time never seems to roll around since I'm too busy digging..haha. Thanks so much 🙂

I didnt even think of that...a solar panel charger. That's a great idea. I just need to get a new camera but hate to have to figure out the new software, etc. We'll see what we can do...thanks for your idea😀

Hey Jim, we sure appreciate you brother! Thanks so much. We sure have fun digging...even the slicks..haha. We may have set a new record for us since we had 4 big full boxes of clear slicks alone...and probably another 3 boxes or more of plain beers, whiskeys, etc. 😀😀

It would surprise you how much you could sell the small red bricks for. They are used in landscaping walk ways and planters,.. It would help you on your digging costs.

Howdy Bud...yes, we truly need to get together for a good dig or two this spring. We had that real cold spell which froze the ground, but the backhoe made it possible for us to keep digging. Hope you have an early thaw there in Michigan. God bless you brother! 🙂

Originally the lay of the land where that dump is was a hillside going down to a creek. They dumped a lot of trash in the 1905-1915 period and slowly filled it up to where it is today....10 to 12 ft deep in most places where we are digging now. You can see the layering in the side of our pit....thanks so much for watching🙂

check out the conclusion....over 140 keepers we brought home, including over 100 embossed bottles for sure...6 jugs including two embossed...2 straight side Coke bottles...that's pretty good for us..haha😀

He is not even trying anymore. He is not taking his time and slowly sorting through the junk to get every little treasure.

Taking his time? Paul has eyes like a hawk, he don't miss nothing... Ive been watching his videos for years and is one of the best diggers around.. This dump has very few smalls, very few marbles, or dolls.. personally For the amount of bottles these boys dig, saving cracked or broken ones is pointless.

Yea, its sad how few tiny things like marbles and coins there are in that dump. We try to watch as we are digging...and also regularly go through our back dirt tailings, but its just amazing how few treasures we find.

You guys should be taking every bottle slick or embossed cracked or not and put in boxes . The broken and cracked sell faster because they are cheaper. Most diggers make more off the chipped cracked and broken at two or three each . Cause there is more of them. Also alot of people collecting the broken panels with words on them to make stuff in art .or lamp shades or stain glass windows with broken pieces. You guys should be going much slower way more thorough. You could make the dump last many years for videos . It seems your son wants to get it done and over.

Trust me, they have thousands......This dump has provided hundreds of treasures.. As far as Paul goes.... He don't miss nothing.. Can only store so much....

Thanks so much for your nice comments. We will try to show some of the 1000s of bottles we've kept already....its really amazing how much weve accumulated over the years weve been digging in that dump. For example, this day alone we kept over 4 boxes of clear slicks...not counting all the aqua, green and amber bottles..I try to keep interesting panels,etc ..its just overwhelming..haha
