originally i was going to just add a dancing tails sprite but my friend told me i could just use the sonic 2011/sonic pc port tails sprites, and then i saw the beta tails design and i went "Yes."
so i found the beta tails spritesheet, used the sonic 2011 tails sprites as a base (literally using the face and arms) and, voilà, FAILURE tails sprites
i also figured it'd be funny if FAILURE knew you were expecting a horror game when playing his game, so he just makes it play like any other sonic game, and or just makes it so if a scary thing is going to happen like a jumpscare or a character dying, hes more friendly, and does a sunky.mpeg approach to it
inwhich your expectations will be shifted
i may also make this a extendation of his lore where he can appear in beta builds of sonic 2 and 3 aswell, just as the tokyo show sonic 1 sprites
hes just a silly little guy what can i say, oh yeah and sonics dead, he took his spot, robotniks "dead" in the way that hes just used for show, hes not alive, everytime you fight him as FAILURE, it'd more or less be a memory or a flashback
btw FAILURE is actually a pretty nice guy towards tails and the others when he doesn't kill them, thats why tails is scared, because he doesn't know what FAILURE is going to do, he could kill him, torture him, hell even keep him alive as a puppet
but nah he just pranks tails with his true form and acts like how sonic NORMALLY would, just more like fleetway where he can be stubborn and aggressive randomly in his disguise
but he doesn't really care if he has to kill them, he does it to anger and shock the player anyway with different expectations, which is fun for him
anyway yeah subscribe and like for more FAILURE stuff, i like expanding his lore
