    Lots of beautiful patterns, thank you! Just one request... When you post pictures or comments in your videos, could you maybe show them about twice as long? I often find it difficult to see/read everything quickly enough. Especially because I usually knit while watching you, and I might just happen to be looking down at my knitting that very second when you show something. 😄 Thank you!

    I see some other people in the comments have already noted that Haraboji is a Korean word, just adding on that the "o" is more like the O in "forest" rather than the O in "go". 😊 And "aegyo" can be pronounced like "egg yo". Love seeing all the patterns, the Haraboji cardigan wasn't even on my radar until I watched this episode, and now I desperately want to make one in the new year!!

I’m looking to add at least 3 cardigans, 5 basic sweaters, 3-5 tees, and 3-5 camisole no 9 tanks. Then if I get anything else done I’d love to do a black and soft white stranded colorwork sweater, a nice big shawl and I’ll add socks in between larger projects.

    I knit the svenson but altered the pattern to knit it in the round. It was still bottom up which was a pain, but it worked. You just have to write the WS rows backwards and change the knits to purls. I also added more stitches to the saddle shoulders to make them wider as they looked tight in the project pictures. I think it turned out well!

    Hi from Rachel! I think Jessica has a similar technique to me (or maybe lack thereof lol) but for colorwork, I drop the current color, pick up the new color, and just work as normal in english style knitting. I know continental knitters usually use both hands and are way faster because of it! But I am just not there in my colorwork skills 😅 I think personally cables can be a little slower, but I find the gauge of a project to be the biggest impact on how long a project is going to take. 😊

    Hello :). I am Norwegian, read Swedish and Danish, and can help you translate the colourwork mitten pattern - if you should need assistance. I have never come across a colourwork mitten pattern that do not come with a diagram, so it is usually easy to understand. Some Norwegian patterns only come with the diagram for one of the mittens (left or right), and then you must remember to mirror the thumb on the second mitten, so not to end up with two left or right mittens (this happened to many knitters I know 😄..). Thank you for a nice podcast with a lot of useful «knitting nerding»! Yours, Kristine

    Creabea - Rebecca Clow said her Billie sweater feels constricting, the honeycomb cable on the front particularly. Also I think she mentioned the sleeves being tight too? Maybe l’m wrong though. I wrote it off since unfortunately. Aegyo’s patterns are all named after Korean words, I think that even though she’s in Denmark she’s Korean.

    Thank you both for correcting me! I meant to say “Korean” and got mixed up! That’s interesting that the Billie Pullover might run tighter… I didn’t run into that issue with the Billie Cardigan, but I also didn’t use the recommended yarn so perhaps that played a role in how the sweater fit. We’ll see if we can find the podcast where Rebecca talks about it. Appreciate the heads up! :)

  • @reggieInside2023
    @reggieInside20234 ай бұрын

    Great episode! The Aegyo patterns often have Korean, not Japanese, names. Her husband is Korean I believe. They are quite terrible on the size inclusivity front. That cardigan has three sizes, with finished circumference of only 55" for the largest size, so accounting for an "oversize" allocation of 10 - 12", that would mean maximum inclusivity to a chest of about 45".

  • @thosetwinswhoknit

    @thosetwinswhoknit

    4 ай бұрын

    Thank you for correcting me! I will address this mistake in the next podcast as I meant to say Korean! I appreciate you letting me know! I agree, this pattern is horrible on the size inclusion front. I didn’t realize how off it was until after I purchased the pattern this week. The pattern mentions it should have a positive ease between 7-48 cms, which is a huge range and very confusing as to how it should actually fit… I haven’t decided if I want to move forward with it since I have all the things needed, or if I need to find another use for this yarn. It’s unfortunate. :(

    Any new yarn stores in the KC area? I used to go to one in Overland Park but I think a couple of the others closed. My KC relatives have gotten used to me saying I’m going yarn shopping before I head to Manhattan that lost their yarn shop:0(

    We don’t know of any in Overland Park right now either! But Yarn Social in KC is beautiful and we love Unwind in Lees Summit! I’m not sure if Yarn Barn in Lawrence, KS would be on the way or not but it’s always a fun visit as well. :) they have a lot more commercial yarn as opposed to indie dyed if you have any sort of preference for one over the other!

    @@thosetwinswhoknit thanks! Sometimes if I have time I stop at Yarn Barn. Best part I have a KC cousin that will go with me and she doesn’t even knit!

    My LYS carries Noro yarns. Are you sure your LYS doesn’t have it?

    Yarn social in KC does! But they’re sold out of the Saki color, I think it is a very popular color in the madara base 🥲

    @@thosetwinswhoknit lol - someone else beat me to it - I was also going to offer to translate from Swedish to English as I can knit in both. But may I also suggest you have a look on Ravelry at the designer Kristin Drysdale - username "Scandiwork". She has so many beautiful Scandinavian style patterns which are similar to Vanten Judith. And Kristin's are in English! 😊
