Too loose keeps beating hunting for center and wheels shudder at certain speeds dependent on ratio for final speed .

Here are a couple more things to consider. The damper is a wear item. It is filled with silicone which dries out rendering the part non serviceable. Once again you get engine vibration. Change it out. The second is that ride smoothness can be improved with Centramatic balancers for trucks. You can independently research both of these. Those new tires will last longer with the Centramatics. Good firm shock absorbers on the front will prevent cupping out. Real nice truck.

Geez my brother....the tire struggle took me back about 55 years to when I worked at the gas station/tire shop...man we did soooo many fricken' truck tires the exact same struggle. Big air bead breaker gun, then get the locking rings off (at least those are no more but the good side of those killers was the wheel would fall right out of the tire with the ring off), then pull the flap and the tube (also thankfully out of the equation now!) the on to reassembly....ugh. Back hoe rear tire sucked. The absolute worst though were the f'n airplane tires! So what do you suspect was the actual cause of the vibration? I'm thinking maybe it was the yoke...were any of the u joint cup bearings bad? Can't wait for the Macungie vid!

I would probably never mount my own tires even on a small rig let alone a big one but, I AM fussy as hell about the lug nuts. Tire shops generally don't take the time to put them back on the rig right, especially automotive tire places are bad about it. Spinning them back on dry and overtightening which can damage the wheel and stud especially a nice aluminum one if the washer starts spinning on the wheel instead of biting down and anchoring like it's supposed to. I get it...it's a liability thing where people can't be trusted to do a retorque after 50-100 miles so they have to blast them on there and move onto the next job, never mind doing a proper seating and torquing sequence or lubricating the studs and nuts. It takes a little extra time and hassle do it this way. Most people...who cares or they just don't know any better, but if you're real fussy about your truck that type of stuff drives you up the wall.
