That round mess kit I think is French made after the Liberation of France late 1944. French Colonial soldiers either French or Foreign Legion were issued this after WWII. These were used during combat operations in French Indochina or Vietnam in the 1950s and in Algeria in the early 1960s. The French Military used this design since the 19th century reason is I have a French M1952 aluminium 3 piece square mess kit hybrid design from the British Pattern 1937. What you got is super awesome find. That French mess kit can cook anything for 2 to 3 soldiers which has been the doctrine of the French Army.

If you get into German WW2 or American WW2 Stuff, it's a great store to check out. You can get replica stuff and they do have some authentic things as well. Have Fun!

Very nice guy good to see your folks going old school but I hate to say you let yourselves go a little high on the gear Also that’s army foot locker you got the other was a rifle create that’s why it was long and narrow Also the first Monday is great place in canton but it can be pricey If you go north of there on 19 to hwy 80 there is a smaller flea market runs most of the year they occasionally have what your looking for And every spring and fall the hwy80 sale goes on there’s a Facebook page that list the dates for each Mostly it runs good between Terrell and Longview but goes all the way to Alabama following hwy 80 the next one should be up real soon But love what your doing if I could I love to help you guys but as a caretaker not got money to do those kind of buying trips But there are some great places to buy what you need on 80 and some in Denton as well also look to old books like boys book of knowledge or old Boy Scout books their a great source of material if my dad was still alive he could have gave you all the advice on this stuff as a kid in east txs he lived off the land Also firearms look to a over under 410/.22 best set up short of getting both weapons the 410 has a lot of different amo both slug and shot for small and big game as well as protection Good luck hope this helps and I will sub to your channel to see more
