With the RFL declining to enforce the rule that the tackled player must make a "genuine attempt to play the ball with the foot", some of the rucks are starting to resemble RU mess. Step over the ball, roll and walk to the side of it, chuck it through your legs - anything goes. On a brighter note, a number of players on both sides look capable of playing at a higher level. Hopefully, those clubs in WSL looking to match Saints/Leeds/York will be checking out games like this with an eye to recruitment.

Ludicrous obstruction call from the ref at 16 mins. It is not automatically illegal to run behind your own player. Especially when the player in front has just played the ball. Do they read the rulebook?
