It does actually make sense magic wise. The curse is centered around the drop of true love magic from snow and charming, so Emma being born from that makes her apart of it which is what makes her the savior and thus destroying her would essentially be destroying the core of the curse.

@@bluestar-4496 Emma mirrors Jesus, she can be “sacrificed” to break the curse, at the end of season 6 she even was in the center of the dining table just like the Last Supper painting.

All curses come with a price. Regina has to choose between keeping her curse and keeping Henry, it's either/or. But she tried to have both and nearly lost both because of it.

"I'll give you anything!" "You no longer have anything that I want, dearie!" To which he might have added, "And if you did, I'd just ask you to give it to me for free...please!"

Henry Walker - It would be incredibly stupid and suicidal for Regina to do that. Gold would be furious and immediately order to PLEASE hand over Belle immediately, and Regina would have to do it. Then Gold would likely issue another please, possibly a fatal one. The 'please clause' in the Curse makes Regina basically helpless against Rumple while the Curse is in effect and he has his full memory.

@Sherman Lee Yes exactly Regina has to do anything mr. Gold says if says please, so if he would have said "if you did have anything that I want, I'd just ask you to give it to me for free please" like you suggested Regina would have to give him anything she had that he wanted including belle, it would not matter how stupid it would be do so she wouldn't have had any choice.

That hair and outfit...Regina was esp. lovely in S1.

You know, I'm really surprised Regina didn't use her own ace in the hole here, she DID have something Gold wanted had he known about it... she had Belle. If she had used that knowledge better, then maybe Jefferson wouldn't have had the chance to set Belle free.

He was angry because he figured out that she had kept Belle locked in the asylum for 28 years during the curse when Regina made him believe she was dead. And not to mention that Regina and Cora were working to steal his dagger and control him.

Yep . You can tell he's having the time of his life . Like , his plan was to more or less stop Regina from maturing . She reminds me of an angsty teen who pretends to be grown up but still needs mum whenever she finds a cockroach in the lavatory seat .

I believe that The Black Fairy did design the curse but Mr. Gold put a drop of the true love potion he had made on the scroll which is what made Emma the Savior and the one that could break the curse.
