The acting in this scene by Jennifer Morrison was phenomenal. I was literally in tears and speechless because of how well she played this part.

Technically the "Dark One" has now taken away 2 of the 3 things that Killian loved the most (Emma and Milah, the third being Liam that Pan was responsible for). Waiting for this hiatus to be over is going to be a bear.

Regina worked so hard for her happiness but her as a Dark One would be cool yet scary

When Regina said Emma, NO! I felt that scene was almost reflective(in a super dramatic way) of Heart of Gold were Regina told Gold she wouldn't let Gold turn Emma into a monster and even though it wasn't by Gold's direct doing here Emma turned Dark and Regina couldn't stop it. I am just wondering now in season 5 with Emma being the product of true love and such a powerful light magic wielder how gaining the dark ones power will affect her? I'm sensing she is gonna be having major internal conflicts and the two sides of her magic will fight for control.

Well this is a epic one so sad and i tell you and not everyone would willingly sacrifice themselves for someone, what so amazing is how Emma care deeply for Regina to do so. The fact that she puts Regina first to give Regina her happiness speaks wonders ----my eyes opened to this when i saw that from the beginning 4B how Emma acted when she thought Regina was missing, the where is regina , i wont rest until i know Regina is ok ...that type of reaction prove the deep connection these two ladies share, Emma will do anything to make Regina happy---regina too will do anything not to let emma heart dark ...right here while the darkness surround Regina she still shout out to Emma NO! their have to be another way---now that's fucking deep . Bring on season 5 cause i awaits to see Dark Emma stir up people feelings , show their real colors i want Emma to be badAass #DarkSwan so bad GIVE ME IT PLEASE !

Now I have to get on Netflix and re watch the episode when Rumple became the Dark One. I was under the impression that a person can absorb the Dark One's power and still be in control. But now I am starting to wonder if a blacken heart is just the inevitable - the darkness will consume the person's heart no matter what and slowly snuff out the good until there's nothing left but dark. Now I am starting to re evaluate my opinion about Rumple. I thought he was just addicted to to the power like a heroine addict is to the drug and just needed years of rehab. But now I am wondering if the darkness inside him was using his fear of being weak to manipulate him into doing all those bad things in order to darken his heart. Anyone up for a discussion on the topic 'The Dark One: what is it and what does it want?'

"Imagine me with that power. I wouldn’t use it for evil. I'd end the war, I'd bring all the children home." Neither Rumple nor Emma were evil at first, but their viewpoints changed after becoming the Dark One. Both of them began doing things that horrified those who knew them. Both seemed to see only the convenience for themselves, not the importance of the injuries inflicted on others. When their loved ones confronted them, they justified their actions, not to convince anybody else, but what others called evil magic seemed to be sensible decisions to them. I think the spirit of the Dark One rewarded them with ability (Emma: "Things are clearer now...") and compensated for their weaknesses (Rumple was no longet tormented by fear and helplessness, and became seriously brilliant). The Dark magic sharpened what it could use, but quietly dulled the good parts of their understanding. Otherwise they never would have done such things. It's like they couldn't understand why those closest to them wanted them to stop. Later they could sort of see it, but no longer really wanted to stop. Yet...they missed something they had lost, and wanted to pick and choose what they liked from both sides. However, because good and evil are in opposition, it brings grief all around. Evil laughs at everyone's pain. Only good holds onto hope.

I think it'll be primarily Snow, Regina and Killian who bring Emma back because Snow has been tempted, Killian as tainted his heart but not fully given in and Regina has given in but then redeemed herself

And now the fun part waiting until September

and now two people who hook has loved have been lost to him because of the dark one. I do wonder how emma will look as the dark one. will they go full rumple or will they do half since she is still the savior as well. this will be interesting

It's nice to see Emma saying i love you to Killian but I just wished she had said it with more emotion and a kiss. ;D

question. When Rumple became the dark one, he didn't disappear. He just kinda killed the last dark one and then became it almost instantly. So why did Emma disappear? I know all they have to do is summon her but still. And another question, back in the Enchanted Forest when the Seer said that the boy (henry) would be Rumples undoing, i always thought that it meant that Henry would be the DARK ONES undoing. Like that henry would take away the darkness or find the key, so now that Emma is the dark one, do you still think that Henry is the actual character Rumple or the Dark ones undoing?

Am I the only one who wanted Regina to become the dark one the evil queen was great but Regina as the dark one would be awesome

Did anyone else find Emma's "I love you" slightly underwhelming? I mean, I've been anticipating it for so long but, seeing as she had a perfect opportunity back at the loft, her confession kinda fell a bit... flat to me. I guess the writers wanted to build it up to this moment but still. Or it could be just because I already knew this scene would play out similarly this, even before the episode aired :P

DJ Elle I didn't find it underwhelming because of the tenseness of the scene. There really wasn't enough time for a heartfelt "I love you", to me it was an "I love you, find me, save me" type of situation. I think the pace worked for the tension in the scene.

DJ Elle I thought of that at first but then I realized the reason why they made her tell Killian she loved him at that moment was to not let her sacrificing HER happiness for Regina and the rest to mean more. Plus Emma's that type of person who would be scared shitless in a calm day to tell someone how they really feel but as soon as theirs danger she's ready to admit it because telling someone who she feels and it not being the same for them is probably the worst thing to her. Just look at S1, Henry dies and she FINALLY tells him how she feels about him and breaks the curse. S3 Regina burns Snow alive (Or so she thought.) and Emma FINALLY accepts her parents as her parents because she couldn't live without them. It's the same with Killian. She wants him to make sure that she's doing this for the right reasons and that she trust he and her parents will save her. Why do you think the last shot was her looking at Killian and no one else?

mjgchick Haha true. The more I thought about it, the more I accepted it I guess. I was kinda hoping for a grander moment for it to happen. But I love how those three words were the last words to be said in the season, and the final words she says before she disappears.
