Unfortunately that responsibility lies heavily on the assemblies and regional governments, the office of the chieftain has been withdrawn from so many of its primary duties. As Ghanaians we have to be intentional and ready to elect capable leaders to create the difference we seek.

Ghana's rich culture is all about Ashanti. Those noise makers and jealous of Ashanti kingdom should watch this. Can so called dormaahene get opportunity like this in America? That tells you the supremacy of Ashanti kingdom. Whether you like or not, Ashantis will keep on being your masters. The whites themselves were enthused. Is true otumfuor is Ghana King. From business to academics Ashantis are the best. Is a fact and I want somebody to come and challenge me.

Yes he is the King of Asante and not Ghana but without controversy he is the most influential of all the paramount figures in the country. When the resolution of a matter is above the capability of the political echelon, he is always the final arbitrator. People can deny and play legalities with it but he is the most prominent Paramount ruler in Ghana and one of the most respected from Africa.

The people of Ghana, in general, have done so much throughout history to bring down the glory of Ashanti. It is as if there is a social contract to lie about levels of power in the traditional institutions with Ashanti as the target. We pretend the Ga Mantse and The Okyehene are overlords of all Gas and Akyems so we can make them the Asantehene's equal, but they are not. The Ga Mantse rules over the Ga State (Abola, Sempe, Ngleshie, Asere, Ga Mashie.) He doesn't have any power over Osu, a mere five minutes from Accra central. Gas from Nungua, Teshie, Tema, Osu are not under his authority. They have their paramount chiefs who are the equals of the Ga Mantse. The Okyehene is not overlord of all Akyems but only of the Akyem Abuakwa State. He doesn't rule over Akyem Kotoku and other places in Akyem. The Otumfuo is not a paramount chief, according to our constitution. Check Act 759 of 2008. He has 78 paramountcies under him. He rules over every square inch of Ashanti. He is the king of all Asantes. He also rules over Sampa and Berekum in the Bono Region, Berekum and Nkoranza in the Bono East Region, and Wora Wora in the Oti region. Yes, let us tell the truth people would rather not hear. The Otumfuo was ruling over places in the Volta Region and Brong Ahafo Region before the new regions came. It is a taboo in Ghana to say these things, even though they are facts. The constitution does not say he is a paramount chief. How do you call someone with 78 paramount chiefs in his region and regions beyond, who has subjects in Cote D'ivoire an Omanhene? The constitution says there is Asantehene and then there are paramount chiefs. When Ghana is in trouble and the politicians can't do anything, only the Otumfuo can help Ghana. The IMF and World Bank all give money to Ghana when he steps in. Ahuoyaa nti, people are determined to make sure he is not called a king, so he and their tribal chiefs can be equals. But no chief of any tribe or in any region is the Asantehene's equal by a distance of 100 historical years. Go and ask the northern chiefs. They understand, they will explain to you. The Otumfuo is just humble.
