Ottoman jewels at the Lady Sadberk Museum | Exhibitions | Showcase

An Ottoman jewelry collection at the Lady Sadberk Museum dazzles visitors with women's collectables from the 18th century. Once owned by women from the royal family, the jewels were passed on to our generation by one lady with a dream.

Magnificent Century got me into researching the history of Turkey, and not just that, I want to visit the country.😊 Before that I just knew Turkey exists , and nothing more. How tragic would it be, to die without never knowing there are such magnificent places with equally magnificent history (if not daunting)!!! 😌

These dresses are from the 18th and 19th centuries. They're not from the times portrayed in those drama series. Also, they're not royal or aristocratic dresses either. They just belonged to rich Ottoman Turkish women. Look at the portraits of sultanas Hürrem, Mihrimah, Safiye, Kösem, Turhan drawn by European painters of their time. The costumes in the series are more similar to the ones in those portraits.

Turks didn't originate from M*ng*ls. Turkic (a.k.a Hunno-Turkic) and Serbi-M*ng*lic (a.k.a M*ng*lo-Khitan) are two different, unrelated ethnolinguistic families. The Turkic Urheimat is the area where the borders of M*ng*lia, Kazakhstan, Russia, China come together. The Serbi-M*ng*lic Urheimat is near the Bohai Sea in southern Manchuria. Look at the traditional costumes of Azerbaijanis, Crimean Tatars, Volga Tatars, Bashkirs, Uzbeks and Kazakhs. They resemble the Ottoman attire of the 15th-18th centuries. Albanians and Bosnians were heavily influenced by Turkish culture. I had to censor the word M*ng*l, because the YT algorithm thought it was an insult and removed my comment.
